I saw a video of battle star galactica online on guru 3d a few days ago, according to the article on there it is made using unity and will be playable in a web browser. Looks pretty snazzy considering. Engine obviously has potential.

Oh please make stuff like power control - you give more power to shield if needed while giving away from other systems etc, matching speed with enemy ship, realistic sizes…stuff like these missing from FL

about the power control… is that actually impossible to build to FL. say, if everything requires power - engines, shields, guns, all of the stuff - could it be made possible to say increase the concentration of power given to the shield via a key. the player could define in his options, how many percents he wants the switches to be.

I apologize, there no Linux download… maybe i confused in a rumour, I recheck the download page, there no linux version download, sorry.

This is still very basic, the port is yet far from done.

We already think about it. Maybe, maybe. But later. Now we have much more important things to do. The server periodically sends object update packets to each client. Check out Packets for the details.

NPCs aren’t synced when there are no players. They’re created when a player joins “an area” and destroyed when they fly away/the player leaves/whatever.

I would like to ask whether you have a some kind of special idea about the planets and the space stations? For example landing, docking, flying and walking on a planet/station and communication with the characters…

The docking ring, it could be a station in geosynchronus orbit with the the planet.
An it could have mooring links and the obvious docking ring all in one.

Mixing trading station with the gravitational elevator (docking ring) and the moors for the capital ships.
