It works! It finally works! With a proper fitting sur to boot!
If anyone remembers my old Liberty Gunboat model I made some time back…
Thanks to megalodonEC I finally figured out how to get the stupid thing into Milkshape. After many tears I can now fully export models from Lightwave, import them into Milkshape, CMPify them, and then create proper surs for them so that they have perfect hit boxes.
Feels good.

It would be a nice addition to the custom rheinland and kusari ship’s we’ve added in 1.8 (ill upload some pics of the rheinland Carrier, Kusari Gunboat and the Kusari Destroyer).We could also make a trade of ships

Been watching the original series of V over Xmas… it was bugging me i had a skyfighter… but it wasn’t quite “cannon”… so i fixed her with brand new textures (well… more to the original ship…)
.3ds itself was sourced here Skyfighter & reworked to be more like the show (removal of extra hull bits)… she still needs a bit of work… but is passable for this V fan atm 8-)

Awesome m8… that vantage in the center looks much more defined than the asgard version (still an awesome ship…) looking forward to flying the closest one in your next mod version, sweet looking little killer… 8-)

As you can see they’re quite simple, but I think they fit very well in Freelancer. The Walross is just a modified fat dromy.

My latest little project. Total work time around 12 hours.
Polycount sits at 14.6k due to the smoothing on the main hull.
Model by matt/mathias at scifi-meshes.com with hull rework and all textures by me. -
I’ve seen his topic, the model looks stunning, you sould really post a bigger preview for anyone who doesn’t know the ship to have a better look at it. Fantastic ship man ! Give him a beer :))

He was kind enough to send me his base model before he started detailing work. I ended up rebuilding the underside where the shuttlebay is to save polygons (his original main hull would have been 21k by itself).
I did my best to follow every bit of reference material I had for the major hull panel lines and filled it in with some generic, if very subtle, detail paneling.
