A belated Happy Birthday Freelancer!

I tried to join every stream and event myself but I was very busy and still I am. Thank you @takashi9413 for representing me and thanks to all of you for hosting or joining our small celebration week, it was smaller than the last anniversary but it was fun, and remembered us once more that the community is strong and that the game is still one of a kind without a real successor.

Let us grow to revive the big freelancer Community
Let us prosper to enjoy the next 21 years full of great Freelancer Stuff

Another year has passed, and the next Birthday for our beloved space game is around the corner, we are happy to announce the 21st Anniversary Event Week.

We have prepared 6 very awesome events with showcases, server events / play together seasons for all of you!, feel free to celebrate this fantastic masterpiece with us and if you can’t join the events don’t worry, all events will be live-streamed on Twitch from well-known streamers in our community.

Since the last anniversary, a lot of things happened around our little community network, New Mod Projects started like Homelancer, older Mod Projects found a new development team like Frontierspace, The Starport has arrived in the current decade with its new website ;), Regulancer was introduced as a regular event for the whole community.

We have grown, we have prospered we have flourished and we continue to do so, and all this is thanks to the support of our members, programmers, modders, and admins.

Let us celebrate into the new year and never forget what we have achieved so far

Like most of you, we on the Starport team have set ourselves a few goals that we have set our sights on this year.

The website is still being built and the event team will also try out some new ideas to further publicize the topic of freelancer.
That’s why we’re counting on your feedback, your support, and, above all, your passion for our favorite space game again this year

Greetings Everyone

a lot has happened in the Starport community this year and I would like to give a little look back at 2023 from the general community’s perspective.

But before that, I would like to add something personal to this post because compared to many others in the freelancer community, I am a relative newcomer and have only been part of the Starport event management team since the beginning of the year. I talked to a lot of Admins, Developers, Modders, and old Veterans to understand what the situation was at the beginning of the year. Community is more than just some People open up a Discord where people join. In my personal opinion community means that people coming together from all over the world with the same passion for a topic, helping each other out, playing together, or just enjoying talking with others about their favorite topic. In 2023 we worked a lot to achieve this goal and made the game a talking point for many again.

Some Details:

We had an awesome 20th Anniversary with a lot of Streams, Play Together Events, and Showcases
Freelancer Galactic Community was renamed to The Starport
The Regulancer Event has started and made it to season 8 with lots of cool events (more later)
Homelancer Discord opened up
Frontierspace Discord opened up
The new Starport Website went online

Every single Point on this list has had and continues to have a major impact on the future of this growing community.

not to turn it into a novel, I will just let you know what my personal favorite was this year if I had to pick one, and that’s the 20th anniversary, You saw a lot of passion and joy, even some love for the game and that’s what makes a community so great. it’s about nothing else.

I think I speak for the whole staff if im wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.

We look back on the year with joy but are also preparing for the future with fresh ideas and the goal of further bringing the community together.

As said before, great job guys!

Also, maybe it’s possible to make a mapping from the wfd downloads to the title and description in the database with a custom import script. All the downloads without wfd in the name are probably the old TLR downloads which didnt really have proper names/descriptions and are probably too outdated anyways.
