Im currently trying myself to talk to anyone about that mod and its assets?.. but i think this particular ship may have been made by
either Harrier or Parabolix… I can’t find an exact credit in the Epsilon Readme for this particular ship…

The long versions of the ships are by Triple X with modified textures by Gibbon. The small Pachyderms were originally made by Whitestar, textures by Gibbon. Rebel Pachyderm textures by Whitestar & Gibbon

hey all, just thought id show off a few WIPs for a mod im working on.

Look more like smuggler craft to me… hehe… nice big engines to run any blockade… and with a “touch” of X-series flair!..

@ Gibbon… those pachys… Been meaning to ask for a while … there in your shippack from long ago (not these specific but ye know what i mean)… whats the usage rights on those puppys?

also… ever thought of making that rear section… “attachable” like FL’s cargo pods? I know it wont affect cargo (FL limitation grr) but would certainly be something cool to play with none the less 8-)

That ship pack isn’t available anymore, i know i don’t host it lol. The Pachyderms in there were slightly bugged anyway as it turned out. When TripleX made those he forgot to rename the groups in the various models, so when a different type showed up, it looked the same as the one you were flying due to the group name conflict. I fixed all that in later versions, prob why i don’t offer that pack anymore. All credits to the earlier ones goto TripleX. They are free to use from that pack if anyone has it.

yes i have it along with 100’s of other FL files and mods i’ve collected over the years. Thanks for the info on the problem with the model. Probably only going to use 1 anyways, the big one 8-)

While messing around with Pachyderms and making new ones, i suddenly thought what a realworld company would look like if they used Pachyderms. Obvious choices were the courier companies so i made a few of them.

These are my ships. Some of them are my first works, others are brand new. Some of them have been fixed after taking the pics, some other are still so.

The Heromaker is an existing ship that I thought it had no texture and later I saw it in a vid flying with another texture (very dissapointing after so long work), and the Genestealer comes out from a friend’s design in a piece of paper.

All ships are 500-1000Kb big, with circa 500-1500 vertices and/or triangles.

The Heromaker is simply a modified Psionic ship that was from my ship pack i released a while ago, so to just rename it and call it your own tbh just pisses me off. Psionic made it and i converted it to FL. Only change that i can see is two extra fins added at the back and the front guns removed, apart from that they are identical.

It’s blatant theft, simple as that, some people are retarded and think they can get away with crap like this.

On a more friendlier note, here’s a new version of the, yes, you guessed it, the Pachyderm, this time in tanker format. I bolted on a cradle structure and resized the original cargo containers from FL and ended up with this.

Ehrmm… , Gibbon m8, I said I took that ship from a guy called Onimuska. He left a pack with many ships without textures and I just added some pics in it. Got to say that the model was very “damaged”. Many vertex moved, unwelded parts everywhere, etc, etc. That guy surely picked your pack and played a bit with the models and what I got was that. Once fixed and retextured I posted it in our forums, and next day I got a link to a video with your ship flying :roll:. You might be dissapointed (I would), but somehow I’m happy to find its daddy. Good job, btw.

Man, you gotta stamp a copyright somewhere in your ships.
And as I said before, Psionic and Genestealer are NOT my designs, just textured and prepared for Freelancer. It was already ready to fly? I didn’t know it, and if I had knew it I would never made it, you can trust me.

In Feb 2005 we had a little comp on the 3D Game Resources to skin a spaceship model I knocked up with the plan to zip em all up after the comp and give em away for free!! Well here it is…

The model and textures can be used for freeware, shareware or commercial games etc. A credit to the peoples texture work and maybe a link to 3D Game Resources site would be nice ;-))

I never said it was my model. Yes i converted it, but Psionic is the modeller not me. That ship is well known cos it was free to download, i was just the first to convert it and release it. That ship pack i made of his ships has been out for a couple of years now. Nobody is saying it was my conversion that’s been stolen as its not my ship to start with.

My point here is noone can just go round claiming a ship is theirs without doing a bit of research. I know all about the copyright notice with Psionics ships, i’m a member of his forum so need to remind me. It’s the lack of credit for the model that annoys me, specially with something as popular as Psionics ships. It’s a blatant ripoff, pure and simple

In any case you’re right because I added it in “My models” list, but I allways said that I only fixed and textured it.
