I tried searching the forum, and didn’t find what I needed, so I’m posting this question.
What are the formulas for figuring out the engine speed and weapon re-fire rates? Also, I feel like there are other important formulas that I’m missing so if you know others, could you please post them too? Thanx in advance.

I don’t think I will publicly release the source code at this time, but I am somewhat undecided on this. Thoughts?
You should definitely release the source. Enough revere engineering and someone (if not you) could figure out how to do the same with Tradelanes (idea). If nothing else, someone could figure out how to fix some of the bugs, and maybe (far shot) figure out a way to have the game balance the cruise speeds when they’re multiples. IDK, just speaking my mind…
After being away for months, I’ve decided to come back due to me and Griffin Pyros attempting to create a new mod for freelancer, based on our universe we’ve created, The Hadron Universe. Originally it was going to be a mod for Homeworld 2 but we decided we could tell the story we want to better with Freelancer.
Which brings me to a few questions;
Since I’ve been gone, I’ve learned to model a little, and I keep working at making myself better so yea, that’s something new with me. My team and I figured out how people that know how to use Autodesk Inventor can model AND export them to Freelancer (after a lot of steps). I’ll be writing a tutorial on it later this week so whatch out if you don’t know how. 
Besides that not much else. To end this post, I’ll show a model of the latest ship I’ve done.

Please note this is only a brief as the real story will be on the forum as soon as it’s available.
For as long as anyone can remember, Earth has always been a fictional place. To the Hadrons, Earth’s nothing more than a place that daemons come from to get little kids that don’t listen to their parents, for the Relics, it’s the promised land, for the Cyphers, it’s just another planet, for the Outlanders, it’s their home world, and for the Bioes, it’s the most the resource rich land known. But regardless of what your beliefs were, Earth was still nothing more than a legend. But all that changed thanks to the war.
During the war, several “artifacts” were found by both the Outlanders and the Relics, causing several people to begin to question whether Earth could be real or not. Because of this, the Hadrons began controling more of what was going on throughout the universe, becoming known as the “galaxy police”. For a while, they were able to quiet everything down, but in 628 ST, something big happened they they couldn’t hide.
Close to the edge of the Milky Way, a Relic scout found an ancient settlement still inhabited by several humans claiming their ancestors were from Earth, as well as several artifacts that supported this statement. Hearing of the artifacts, several Outlanders began moving to the colony, hoping to find something of value. Within months, several devices began to become active again, as well as several “Earth” ships were sold through the black market. Finally, near the end of 629 ST, readings of high energy spikes began coming from the planet, followed by the planet appearing to implode. Soon after, the Hadrons began shutting down the trade lines linking to the system, claiming the sector was under quarentine.
For a while, this kept everything calm, but towards the beginning of 724 ST, one of the “Earth” ships phased into Hadron Prime’s atmopshere, then began tranmitting an S.O.S. signal on all channels, speaking in a language never heard before. Trying to rescue them, several atomospheric rescue crafts (A.R.C.) were launched to try and save it, but before they were able to, the craft crashed into the surface of the planet. Acting quickly, the Hadrons began shutting down several trade lines to all the major sectors in which they had jurisdiction, causing several people to become stranded as well as within months, causing several shipping companies to close out. By late 724 ST., hundreds of people were demanding answers, all wanting to know what was going on.
As for the project(s), we currently only have a team of five working on it.

lol…I know I’m being difficult, but in the end, isn’t the stubborn way always have the best results? I mean with your analogy, maybe by raising the roof instead I can now have a second story. Extra bedrooms?
And I know what happens when your computer brain farts. I’m getting that a lot trying to play Fallout 3. Every 3 to 5 hours my computer decides to tell me no.
Not total on screen, but total pollies per part of an object. At least that’s what I’ve been told to believe from many sources. The total amount of pollies a single .cmp file can hold if devided into all 18 parts is 1,176,390 pollies. But your frame rate will be more shot than a target at a firing range by then.
The max pollies per scene is rendered by the DX level input into game, and what your computer can handle. The resolution of the textures depends on what your computer can handle as well. Really, that’s all I know and it’s not much.
After looking at that link, and studying the models a while, I now understand what you meant by use the textures to basically fake pollies. I’ll talk to red about that more and see what we can do, though I want to run a few personal tests first to see just how high polly acts. I tried what you said FriendlyFire and my frame rate dropped to 1/2 frame per min. Was VERY annoying.
Either way, I still say there’s a sufficient way to get higher polly ships to run smoothly, except on space heaters (Griff). I do know from talking to Lancer Sol. that dividing the model into parts (18 max per cmp) allows it to render faster as well as allow you to beat the 65,355 pollies per ship. Like I said, I’m going to run some tests…
Ok…so from what I’m getting is that the ships need to be dubbed down because otherwise lo-end computers will have problems? Or is it that any computer would have problems?
Also, from what I believe, and I may be wrong, but when the texturing is being done, could we not make the cockpit area transparent so you can see it inside when you do a turret view? I mean that’s why it was done like that, otherwise the cockpit would have been left out dropping about 2K to 3K pollies.
And on a final note, I thought Freelancer could render up to 65355 pollies per object, so why would 18K be a huge problem besides what I already mentioned?
Where is says Ed: 0 - # is how many pollies it is (for those not familure with Blender). This ship as of right now is at 18656, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem. If it does, we can render it down.
Otherwise, what ideas do you have in mind for “optimizing”?

About two years ago, I had service with Verizon. Well my service was cut, and I just threw my i760 in the closet. About a week ago, I found it by accident, and decided that I might as well use my $400 fone for something (PDA). Well it has a password on it that I don’t remember, and Verizon refuses to unlock / flash the phone. Can anyone please help me with this?

Me and my team are trying to come up with a story for our game. Well…we’re stuck on the story. Right now we need the start for it, which is, “How would WWIII start?”
We thought of religion with the Hadron Collider, but obviously that wouldn’t work. So then I thought of oil. That wouldn’t work either. So, that’s why I’m now coming to y’all to see if y’all can helps us out. Any ideas would be great. Thanks in advanced.

Now back to the original matter. As I read through this, I’ve notices that it’s beginning to turn into a battle of rights. I would like to add me 2 cents on this.
First off, this thread was started to ask the develops of all the major mods if we / he could use the models from them, not the info or anything else, as long as credit was given to the fullest extent. I’ve done the research and we understand the copyright laws on custom materials and models for customizations made to existing corporate video games. Long story short, we have to have a written permission of each designer / contributor to every ship. That’s where this thread comes in. Yes Griff should email everyone he can, but as many people don’t realize, most of the emails that are posted in the readme files and the script files don’t work. Now being that most of the emails don’t work, or no one ever responds with a yes or no, how do you contact those people?
I’m just saying this because I would like to see Griff’s project follow through. As well as the idea behind it on how he’s going to build the universe behind it, I feel is ingenious. If nothing else, this could become a community project. I mean what would it hurt for all the groups to get together and help a little, if not just offering their ships? This is just my opinion. To get things straight, I’m not a part of this project except to help him where he needs. In essence, Griff’s on his own here. So why sit here and say, “No you can’t have our ships”, when just letting him use it, and only the ship wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Which with that said, I’m going to ask y’all somethng;
Why is it so bad to allow someone to use your ships?
As the headline says, we need a dedicated skinner for our ships before we go in-game. We have Griff already, but he is a novice at best (no-offence to Griff). We’re looking for someone who’s able to handle high polly ships, as well as make intrecate and detailed skins. If yo uare willing to help us, and I hope someone is, please either reply here, or message me on one of my many instant messengers. Thanks if you can help. I’ll now post a picture of one of the ships that we have just recently finished.
