The email is of a different guy who’s been out of FL for years. He used to host the game server, a duty that I took over long ago.
The guy who ran the forum, I have no contacts for.
I will hold off wipe/repurpose of game server for a couple of months, see what I can do, but I don’t have a whole lotta hope.
Well, the end has come at last. Not too surprising, it’s been a one-man show this past year. Sure, players have trickled on and off the server, but only a few have posted on the forum. At one time, I could have built it back up, but now the forum is gone and the link to what we once were is severed.
The guy hosting the server forum has not renewed the domain name, and now the forum is gone for good. The web page, I can’t get in contact with who’s hosting that either, so can’t update server news.
I’ve shut down the server. It was time, I guess. I now can be found exclusively on Top Freelancers server, beta testing their new mod.

Did you install the Global Server Workaround Patch?
That’s not already part of Evo like it is with newer mods.
Alternatively, you could direct-connect by IP.

Ya, I changed the server from stock to Evo when I started hosting it, such fond memories…
I picked 1.28 partly because that is what we ran on our original 2nd FL server (stock was on the other), but also it was very convenient that Starport hosts the client so people can get it here easy.
If Starport hosted newer versions, I’d be happy to upgrade.

I did server maintenance but for some reason the server didn’t go back online after re-boot.

That’s been fixed, it’s back online now.
The web page is still stale and that issue isn’t resolved.
Some news to report…
After more than a year, the server is still up and operating. New folk drop in from time to time.
However… both our web site and our forum have problems.
The problem with the web site prevents me from updating the server news, such as the current IP. However, we are on the global server workaround list, so this only effects direct-connect. In the meantime, if it becomes necessary to change the IP then I will post it on the Twitter page, name is Frobozz_FL
The forum is completely down. I have no means to contact the operator of the forum, unfortunately.

That’s how revenue is generated. Toolbars. Lots of those programs have them, just don’t DL the ones with the asterisks, they don’t try to hide this.
Hint: Almost all those programs with toolbars let you choose not to install them, and many have versions without toolbars at all. Even if the toolbar is installed and it isn’t what you want, you can often uninstall the toolbar later, without uninstalling the freeware. It’s fair.

Say hiya! Yes, LDG is still around tho most of the old regulars don’t play FL anymore, only I do it seems. Not seen otto in a long time, I host the server now but otto’s pal still hosts our forums. I’ll have to try out some of those mods, I do see you host 88 flak files here on Starport so I guess I’ll start there.

I’d like to ask a question. I was running a stock server, until a bout a month ago. Didn’t do so well so to spice things up I changed the server to Evolutions 1.28 mainly because I know the mod so well (it was the first mod we hosted when it was released) and it’s available here on Starport’s DL section. Plus I just enjoy it so. It’s not been a great success, to say the least. So… I’m just wondering what mod people think that might get some actual players? Other than Discovery, I’m not going to run that one and the market is flooded for it anyways.
