Sure it is, to an extent. You’re implying that the /v/lancer dev stole something and won’t be successful because this wonderful little site won’t advertise for him, when the ‘group’ that we are a part of is many times larger than this site.

And besides, you’re using examples of stealing entire applications or games or whatever, when everyone else is saying that one texture or model has been stolen. That’s like saying someone would steal a car for the cupholder.

Nope, I just assumend that there might be something true about the postings of some mod makers here (OPR8R, FriendlyFire) because I know them very well and I am 100% sure that they don’t write such statesments if they aren’t sure about.
I personally haven’t seen any stealing of mod ressources, I am not saying that there isn’t any stealing NOR do I say there is. I just have a very bad memory sometimes, sry. I simple can’t say anything.

Imagine you are the project leader and leading programmer of Winamp.
Now I re-release it under a totally new name and claim it as my own: “Bas l4m0rz music player”.
Would you really like this move?

Also, I can assure you that almost nobody, if everyone at all, will help if you run into ANY problems. Freelancer modders have lifed mostly in contrary respect of each other, so there isn’t such a high chance that they are going to help someone who stole someone’s work, even if it wasn’t from the ones you asked for help.

Well for one, Winamp is free anyway.

Second, if you made a media player that looked and functioned the same as WInamp, I’d be perfectly fine with it.

I wouldn’t use it because Winamp is better, but I wouldn’t care.

We honestly don’t care if you don’t advertise us. Even if we did steal something, we’re not making a profit on it. We’re just trying to have fun, a concept you don’t seem to understand. Get over yourself, your site isn’t worth getting support from anyway, and all three people who regular this forum aren’t worth playing with either.

There is nothing you can do, anyway. I’m sure you stole from someone else’s mod, or would steal from someone else’s mod, if you made a mod yourself. Modeling and texturing and perfecting everything isn’t worth the time when there’s free resources.
