Try the quickfix patch instead of the SDK, it’s more error free than those SDKs.

Hey FF, you don’t happen to still have a copy of my INI coding style or the stargate daedalus ship mod I did several years back with the plasma beam weapons do ya? lol - I know it’s a longshot.
It’s just I’d rather save myself having to re-create the coding from scratch heh, if not no big I just thought I’d ask that’s all.

Slightly off and on topic here.
When the push to dx9 is made does this mean that overlays can be done and injected into the game? I’m sure we have all the interface calls down by now so might it be time to create a new UI? Or would that be too much work compared to editing the original?

Just to add this, you should re-install freelancer to revert everything back to normal. Then if you wish to play with capital ships then download the mod of choice and connect to its server so you can experience it.
You will not be able to play on your own server as it requires one or two files if memory serves that are server side that aren’t included in the packaged mod.
My advice would be to make a copy of the freelancer data folder somewhere else on your machine so that you can restore it if needed.

Your not quite getting it, being able to buy a “Javelin Heavy assault cruiser” from anywhere means it IS modded, that ship is NOT in the original game.

Then thats his problem, he’s connecting to a non-modded server with modded client files, this will earn you one metric kick off the server by whatever anti-cheat it is using.
Additionally if I remember rightly capital ships or cruisers etc required some sort of server side adjustments to work properly?

Well, I’m pretty sure in the normal game there isn’t a javelin heavy assault cruiser thats buy-able, unless your referring to the missile launcher?

Sounds like a mod to me, some files are client side and some are server side, are you connecting to a non-modded server?

If memory serves, isn’t this new york rather than texas? I believe the jump destination may be set wrong.
But I’ve been out of the modding game for quite a while so I’m very possibly wrong here.

I can understand that, better to put it out when your happy with it rather than put it out when your not.
Are you guys going to be doing more work on it afterwards or is this your final mod?

I’m going to jump back in to modding when I have my new beast of a PC in 1 or 2 months. Then you can show me all that cool new engine stuff

I miss dogfighting with actual players, haven’t duelled anyone in 3 years, I’d suck now though. Back then there was nothing like being backed up to the wall 4 vs 30 players that kept coming and coming in small numbers.

I know but I’d like it native, once the vanilla experience has been upgraded with DX9, new effects, bump and spec mapped ships and a whole bunch of other stuff (hi-res textures, tweaks etc) along with stuff I haven’t thought of yet lol, I will be repackaging and distributing it via some undecided method.
Typically most of the major advances that have been made in Freelancer have been tied into a mod that people may or may not like (personally I’m not a huge fan of the star wars universe). My goal is to integrate a lot of the advances into a repackaged vanilla install along with a modular scripting framework that can be used to build upon it if people want to mod.
Though this won’t be for a couple of years, I’m starting from scratch again I don’t even have my code base anymore, and have forgotten a lot of the knowledge I had back then.
My hope (as it was back when Uberlancer was around) is to try and bring FL back into the light. But this time I’m doing it solo for now, I’ve learned from that failed project
