Okay, I went to that tab and SLI was already disabled. I enabled it just to check, but no luck there either.

So I donāt see a specific option for āDisable SLIā in the list, but I found an option where I can select which GPU to use? Included a screenshot of the option, and I tried selecting one and then the other, but neither had any impact.

Iāve been trying to get help for my issue on several different Freelancer forums, but no luck so far, so if youāve seen me elsewhere I appologize.
I was feeling very nostalgic and havenāt played Freelancer since upgrading my computer and so I installed it again, set the windows XP compatability mode like I was supposed to, and tried playing it. The splash screen and opening movie displays okay, but then it gets choppy. Itās as if I was pausing and unpausing the game repeatedly. It starts at the title menu screen and it makes the game unplayable. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Here are my computer specs
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
16 GB RAM
Core i7-4820k @ 3.70GHz
Dual GeForce GTX 770 gfx cardsIām using an original disc with no mods (vanilla). I have tried running with compatibility modes and without, as administrator, and installed it at D:\Freelancer. My .net framework 3.5 is active, and I have tried enabling vertical synch in the nvidia control menu.
The only thing I can think of is that when the game starts it says it doesnāt recognize my video card.
