THANKS for responding! Could you tell me how to install to Desktop? Also I cant seem to connect to the link above for the single player patch

Can someone tell me how to install the patch I need for singleplayer? I am a old guy thats new to computers but would love to play FL. Ive tried to place the patch in the Microsoft Games–Frelancer folder but computer tells me Im not the Admin. I installed FL into Program Files x86 as version 1.0, from this point Im unsure what to do next. Id sure appreciate a step by step instruction on what to do. Thanks alot for your time and expertise.
