I figured I’d take a minute to post here and let the community know, for anyone new, that the official Shattered Worlds server is now closed (has been for a bit now).

We’re still getting an influx of new people so I thought that it would be a kindness to post where I can that the server is closed. Thanks for the support over the years and good luck!

The Corsair Empire is Shattered Worlds newest incarnation of the traditional Corsairs. The Empire returns to the Corsair roots of piracy, pillaging and conquest.

We are a technocratic government of militaristic marauders, pursuing new technologies through the study and adaptation of the Daam’kavosh artifacts that exist within the Malvada cloud. What were once considered mere inert trinkets have now been unlocked to provide the Corsair people with a plethora of cybernetic and nano-technological enhancements.

The Corsairs are an unlawful faction. Our role is one of an aggressive, scientifically advanced militaristic people. Our goal is simple: domination. In a universe plagued by aliens, intergalactic fiends, brooding House governments and harsh environments, it is a case of survival of the fittest. And make no mistake, we are the fittest.

A little late to the party, but I’ll comment anyway…

Pie-rat fighter pilot. I only play as a lawful pilot when the lawful group is aggressive and borders on nearly being pirates themselves. I’m a law abiding citizen IRL and tend to not want to be that when I play this game. Alongside that, I tend to be a fringe pirate simply because I enjoy the exploration aspect … and that generally is all done on the fringe.

I believe our Moddb page has a list of features and also gameplay videos in it … is that what you’re looking for?

Do you allow the including of the mod in a computer/gaming magazine?

How do you mean? As an article? Or as something on a CD, like the “demo discs” some magazines have? Forsaken would have the final say on it, since it’s his copywritten work.

We thought about that but then thought about the amount of rule violation that would go on with the excuse “I didn’t know.” Hence we tossed out the idea of leaving it publicly downloadable.

They already are, as far as I know. I just checked them and there’s only a few forums you cannot read as a guest. The mod DL being one of them.

I’m sure Forsaken may have some other things to say regarding release times and whatnot, but figured I’d chime in since I was reading the site.

Ramirez was taken from Highlander. I used it for my character as a Corsair (which I started a month after joining MP FL.) It’s stuck since then, and now I’m more known for that than any other name I have used since.

I’m Ramirez, one of the Admin and DevTeam for the Shattered Worlds Freelancer Mod.

I’ve been playing Freelancer for about 2.5 years now. I was a long-time player of the Asgard RPG mod, but with it’s closing, I’m only found on Shattered Worlds now.

Thought I’d show up here and poke around a bit. Hope to talk with some of you soon.
