As I have said countless times in this thread, my computer does NOT give me the UEFI option or a bios option when doing those steps. I know you guys are doing your best to help me, and I appreciate it alot, but that one option is not available to me.

rsabatino, I do have all those options set up that way. That is the one thing the tech support actually offered to help me with. It didn’t help though. For now I have taken out that gfx card and am running on the motherboards card. Atleast i can play Freelancer again and perform my duties as an admin of the top vanilla server alot better now.

Thanks again everyone. I guess I’ll just have to save up for an even better gfx card that i know works with Freelancer!

I forgot about that little tid-bit…. I’ve seen those vids too… Acer and I think HP (maybe some others) have that option built in to the PC, BUT, it depends on the manufacturer and is not a standard windows 8.1 option. I have a Lenovo, which unfortunately doesn’t have that option built in. Don’t pick on my Lenovo tho… It’s super simple to work on the hardware.

that link shows you how to access UEFI on win8, yes. But, all win8 users were forced to upgrade to 8.1. In 8.1 they made it impossible to access the UEFI. They did this intentionally but the reason is beyond me. So, again, BiOS or any alternative (meaning UEFI) does not exhist on 8.1. Atleast as far as it’s users are concerned.

Already re-installed. It’s a no-go.

And as to the BiOS…… No can do… I run Windows 8.1, meaning the BiOS, or any alternative for it, doesn’t exhist anymore. I have set my system up in so many ways and have still failed to solve this issue. All drivers are up to date, including some beta drivers that I was given by Nvidia to try and solve the issue. Since BiOS doesn’t exhist anymore Windows has another means of selecting which gfx card to run, and yes, I have tried running 630 alone AND the motherboard card alone. Nothing…

I run a core i3 with a GT630 from Nvidia and I get a whopping 1fps…. I contacted Nvidia and they keep telling me it’s the game and not their card. The game ran perfect before the card was installed so screw them. I just want to find a fix for this damn issue so I can get back on FLU and continue my Admin duties.

To clarify, it’s a PNY Nvidia GT 630 graphics card. It did come with the driver disc and has even been updated to the most recent driver since then. DirectX 11 was already on my PC before the card. I had a useless chat with tech support and got directed to a broken website with messed up links that wouldn’t even let me log in to submit a compatibility request. Why tech support couldn’t submit the request for me is lost to me.

Like I said before, the card is great. I’m glad I got it. I just wish I could play FL and get a techy that knows how to do his/her job.

Good idea. I already thought of it and remembered that I was running DX 11 way before I got the graphics card. I run Freelancer in compatibility mode for an older OS so it works with Windows 8.

Ok, So I got this new Graphics card.

It’s a Nvidia Geforce GT 630.

It works beautifully with every game I play except Freelancer.

Minecraft = 120 FPS
Starmade = 250 FPS
Skyrim = 100 FPS
Freelancer = 1 FPS

This is really inconvenient since I am an Admin on one of the top Freelancer servers still around and I can’t even play the game due to the incredibly slow FPS. If anyone knows a fix for this, please let me know.

The server operator should have the option to choose who get’s hidden and be able to change it easily enough. Be it through a console command or something done to character files. And they could either just always be shown in New York, no matter where they are, or in ??? or something…
I’m sure whatever you come up with Adoxa will be a work of genius.

is it the same as Fisheye? Our server has a problem with that…

I am a staff member on a server and we would like to know if there is a way to hide our location on the player chat screen.
I assume it’s a .exe or .dll tweak.
The server runs FLAC so FLHook is out of the question.
