Nightstalker never was keen to see parts of his mod being used in other mods and I am not really happy about my mod being altered for many reasons.
There is a license agreement for good reasons. Mainly to protect the official server and its community (it wouldnt be the first time that people said that they only edited stuff for SP before they went online) but also to protect the rights of other people and companies which allowed us to use their work under specific conditions.
I cant talk for Nightstalker here but I am sure that there are also terms of use for the content of his mod and probably also agreements in which way this content is allowed to be used and distributed.

In first place should the general rule apply “ask for permission before you take from others”. Thats my opinions and most certainly not a bad idea in general.

However, I am not able to stop you from doing stupid mistakes.
I just can tell you what might happen.
Depending on what you edit and how you edit it you risk that your savegames or the mod/freelancer installation gets damaged as soon I release the next update (which happens every few weeks). Either your changes get replaced completely so everything you added will be gone or your changes will get replaced partly which will most likely lead to crashes.
You can of course decide not to let the mod patch at all. That means you wont get any fixes, improvements and new content when I provide that.
You also wont get any support in case something goes wrong because… well… based on what should my team and I give support? The original version of the mod or files we dont even know?

We answer questions and give support to players each day… but that only works if everyone has the same version.

Like I said… I probably cant stop you doing that mistake but I also wont condone it.

i keep on NOT understanding all these reactions…i don’t care about going online because i won’t,i won’t care which mod is which and where do i put the ships(hell i can even use the ships on vanilla game,as i don’tcare about other mods,or again,going online )all i want is to play with star trek ships on FREAKING SINGLE PLAYER.ON MY OWN

is that too much too understand\ask?

beside either nighstalker or tekagi tresure stole from each other as i have seen sme of the same ships on both folders.just for the record

i’ld like to have the ships from the mod wts or nightstalkers,but playing them in single player leisure,without having to connect online.

is is possible to transfer those to single player,and even better,to crossfire?i thought about moving the entire SHIP folder and adding the missing lines to the ini file but i’m sure there’s more than that.any help?
