Many errors are not reported on the server but are flagged on the client in the flspew. You might run all the error checkers you can and claim your mod is clean because you have fixed the obvious errors, however, you should use the players flspew from time to time to highlight areas that need attention.
A good tactic is to ask for the spew files from your admin or server staff from time to time and look through them, I found this very usefull in narrowing down and finding problems. Before you judge what i say, get your admins active on the server for a good few hours and get their spew files, then when you have gone through them, you will realise that the flspew is sctually as good an error checker as the software most of us use.

I deleted my post before anyone responded as i didnt get my point over well enough and knew that it wasnt productive.
I have said enough on the matter and am disapointed that people decide to jump on a deleted post even though its prompted before they post their reply. A Very childish and immature response @ HazardFN in light of the fact that you know I had deleted the post.

Either work on one or the other.
FACT - fl players will not play some cobbled together freelancer clone.
FACT - you cant work on both.
FACT - If you dont know what your doing to start with, you might as well stop the save FL thing.Sorry, but it just seems thers a lot of knee jerking around.

Why your using vista, I have no idea. (unless you dont have a choice)
Theres still another few years of support on XP by MS. Extended due to the number of business’s returning to xp after trying vista. During this time im sure vista (or whatever they change it to) will eventually be worth investing in…
Microsoft’s support road map currently says that extended support for Windows XP ends in April 2014.
Tried it, its crap, returned to XP.
Heres a tip for helping with vista installs.

Looks very cool, good luck with it ;D

Damn,
We exchanged a few PM’s through Lancers and FLAC and EOA.
I didnt know he suffered and I didnt see this coming, I’m very shocked.
Condolences to his family, RIP Uni and hopefully the TT community can do something memorable (which their planning I see).

Sorry missed this post until it was bumped
I would like to see more unique base/landing scenes/ 'scapes.
More unique missions…you just get bored after 3 or 4 on the trot, then have to do something else for a while.
Im sure theres other things, but these come to mind at the moment.

I think you need to try Vizup.
heres the link http://www.vizup.com/index.html
Trial version doesnt save, but i guess its worth seeing if it does the job for you first.

well i thought it might be flac, but flac doesnt issue the warnings with .\UserData.cpp(1493) The Flac errors start with a different prefix.
I’ll contact eagle as well just in case
-
This is from the flserver error log.
.\UserData.cpp(1493) : *** ERROR: Exception in UserData::CanDockBase (Dock attempted with non existant space object: 86254)
Logically speaking this is sugesting that there is a base you can dock with, however, it doesnt exist? However, a player is trying to dock with it…
Anybody had this before or can offer some help?
thanks
-
looks good thanks for that.
Does anybody know what scale in max you should use that fits with Freelancer model scales? (saves re-sizing)
-
Well seeing as some use Hook and some use FLAC you can dismiss the SP mod project for obvious reasons. Unless you decide to go down the free route where servers who use FLAC will not be able to participate.
Keep it simple and get some videos in.

Just getting the “mounted” audio when you mount equipment., its all I want.

@ Bas - the reason so many people still play FL is that they dont have to upgrade their pc’s and there are a lot of players still on low end pc’s. When you have a low end pc and low end ram, these programmes do eat up resource and cause problems. If players have a low end pc I always advise them to open the task manager and set the priority for freelancer.exe. to high and make sure all the other programs are set to average/below average to ensure freelancer takes priority when playing.
Dont be hung up on the cpu power, a higher fsb is more important than the latest giga cpu.
The bottleneck on the fsb in and out is the issue. This is why quad core stuff is no real benefit for flserver. Whilst you can process the stuff quick you still have the bottleneck on the fsb, because the quadcores all use one fsb, not 4. So you get some benefit out of the mutithread dll from W0dk4, however, you should pay as much attention to the fsb speed as the cpu when your looking. This is why a dual core with high fsb is actually better than a quadcore (for a busy server).

This works for me, so if it doesnt work for you your problem lies in the factions or the encounter params.
Try this:
MAKE SURE - your encounter params are all listed for the encounters as well.If these are wrong or incorrect you will have and get nothing in terms of encounters.

Looks good but it seems the prices dont include vat and dont include the obligatory operating sys cost .
They charge 19% VATIm sure its worth a look for some though.

wow…nobody knows……
I suppose I’ll have to set some time aside for this then.

This relates to mounting equipment and the audio file reference.
Does anyone know where you specify the sound for the equipment so that when you mount it you can have the correct sound?
This isnt something I have looked at before, but some of my equipment isnt having any audio when its being mounted.
How to disable client-side logging?
