Greetings Everyone
a lot has happened in the Starport community this year and I would like to give a little look back at 2023 from the general community’s perspective.
But before that, I would like to add something personal to this post because compared to many others in the freelancer community, I am a relative newcomer and have only been part of the Starport event management team since the beginning of the year. I talked to a lot of Admins, Developers, Modders, and old Veterans to understand what the situation was at the beginning of the year. Community is more than just some People open up a Discord where people join. In my personal opinion community means that people coming together from all over the world with the same passion for a topic, helping each other out, playing together, or just enjoying talking with others about their favorite topic. In 2023 we worked a lot to achieve this goal and made the game a talking point for many again.
Some Details:
- We had an awesome 20th Anniversary with a lot of Streams, Play Together Events, and Showcases
- Freelancer Galactic Community was renamed to The Starport
- The Regulancer Event has started and made it to season 8 with lots of cool events (more later)
- Homelancer Discord opened up
- Frontierspace Discord opened up
- The new Starport Website went online
Every single Point on this list has had and continues to have a major impact on the future of this growing community.

the 9th Regulancer is almost ready and plans for a 21st Anniversary are also in the making.

not to turn it into a novel, I will just let you know what my personal favorite was this year if I had to pick one, and that’s the 20th anniversary, You saw a lot of passion and joy, even some love for the game and that’s what makes a community so great. it’s about nothing else.
