Thank you, I bookmarked and downloaded and will play with this as soon as I have the chance to do so. More questions coming I’m sure

Mirkha, is there a tutorial on how you do the SURs? I’m new to the modding scene and would like to learn. Thanks.

I want to see a pic of that 9 monitor set up
I love this idea, I may have to play around w/ it. My next plan right now is to get this to work on my TV

you also have the thanks of a noob such as myself
As far as I can tell, your a friggin genius

I had this same problem when I started on my Vista laptop. Some things to look for.
-Anti Virus - Which AV are you using. Some will cause problems. 2 I know for a fact work are AVG free and MSE
-UAC- if your User Account Control prompt is enabled, it will pop up behind the game, but disappear when you change focus (i.e. desktop) or close the game. This is stopping the connection because it’s asking your permission for something
-Firewall - I’ve never had to disable mine, but if the above two don’t fix your problem, try temporarily disabling your firewall, or setting an exception to the game.
I’m sure there could be other reasons, but this is from my experience and advice given to me, hope it helps.

I know this is digging up what seems to be an older topic (march?) but I’m a new modder and I was wondering on the status of this program and what the newest available version would be?
Thanks

I hadn’t played StarLancer in years, should I assume that (aside from Anna V) the fighters are all roughly the same size?
-
odd… everything just says “open in new window” but I can’t figure out how to view. They aren’t links or anything
-
Thanks for those, I’ve been looking for a good bomber to play with, I’ll dig through and find them. I know you said you hadn’t resized them, what are you using size wise for your mod? just for an idea

I wonder, can this be used to point out why a server crashes? Sounds like a stupid question, but my issue this. I have created a new ship, but the server and game both crash as I try to undock. Will this point me in a direction to look?
Oh, and FF, I love that sig LOL

…still get the same error saying a dll is missing. If this is still an issue, as I also had this, you could go to www.dll-files.com and search for the missing. Worked for me. What was funny to me was that I had V.2, fixed it w/ that website, then downloaded v.3 and had to download another one Just extract them to the System 32 folder.

Guess I did it wrong. I put them in like that, replaced the ones listed… I skipped the microsoft and FL scene… and then it crashes… darn…

I’m slightly confused. I had thought that the .3db files were just the icons you see in the marketplace. Is this not the case?
-
so… um, yeah. on vanilla, It was a tad bit slow, but I made it out of the starting planet, and flew around for a while with little trouble.
I’m starting to think it’s a file issue and I’ve gone and screwed up the INI files for loaded my ship.
If you have an email or something, I have all the files in a zip file I could send you. I guess its too big for this forum to accept.

Being that I created a whole new directory on both computers, I think it will be as simple as disabling the mods and trying that way.
Thank you, will check back in a min.

Unfortunatly, my problem seems to have evolved…
I was able to create a char on my server, that char would show up in the accounts on server, then as soon as I undock, both freelancer and FLServer freeze up. I’ve never had a program lock up two computers before
Any ideas? or is this one possibly a file issue with my ship addition?

I know I’m new here, but your a friggin genious. Turns out, it was just the IPV6 that needed disabled. I didn’t even do the other stuff. Thank you very much

I’m running vista on both computers. Both computers also have MSE installed and running, but I just installed these and havn’t figured out how to “safely” stop the program.
I will disable IPV6 if it’s not already done so, and I’ll have to figure out the exception. What’s funny is, I was on the server when the files I had on my computer and the files I had on the server computer didn’t match. As soon as I fixed the missing files, it stopped working. I’m not exactly sure if that is a coincidence or not, but I needed the server to run the same files as the client, so I could test my new ship model.
I’ll get back, thanks.

Hello all.
I apologize if this is elsewhere already, but I didn’t see it.
I am a newbie modder attempting to test a new ship on my own server. I based my server off of a mod I play on so that I could push to have my own ships added possibly.
I built the ship based on DRZZT’s ship tutorial, with a few changes here and there.
Here’s the story i guess. I activated the mod on my normal directory, then copied that directory to another location. I made the changes to this new directory, and when I was done, I copied that directory to another computer. On that computer, I run FLserver (after a version number change) and it boots up fine. On my first computer, I run FL out of that directory (so both computers are using the same) and it loads to the main menu. Here’s where things stop. I click on MP, LAN, and I can see my server, and I can select my server, but when I click connect, I get a box that says it’s taking longer than expected, and then it says it couldn’t connect. At least it didn’t crash.
I have the firewalls disabled on both computers, and I went ahead and installed the 1.1 patch.
Please let me know if there is something else I can do.
I tried to attach the relevant files to the changes, but for some reason I wasn’t allowed.
Thanks and have a good day/night!
