SUR issue

Hey folks,
I have a problem with one of my mod’s sur files. It is very large (2880m in length) and works fine when used as a station, but when I try to use the same cmp,mat,sur as a ship, the npcs can fly through it and the sur doesn’t work at all. I’m really pissed about this right now as I tried both exporting the sur directly (18 parts) which doesn’t even work on the station and splicing it (also 18 parts) which gives me the result described above. Any ideas on how to solve this? :? -
ive not touched SUR’s in a LONG time, but have you made sure the solar radius of it is enough to cover the entire ship? (and is the sur the correct type of sur)

from what i know there is no really difference between sur for ships or stations
i put ships as station to test the sur so …well
are you sure that all your pieces are convexe ?
what is your sur exporter dll ? 1.1 ?if i understand well you spliced all the parts together ?
do you respect the right way for the ini file ?for example :
shadow_academy.sur
shadow_academy_cons_fix.dat-
Radius of the ship (open the CMP with FLModelTool to get that value)* X Y Z (put three times the mass with a space in between)
z_shadow_1.sur Root
z_shadow_2.sur zomgbayz01

……have you imported the .dat in the cmp ?
when you export the cmp, the first group name is the same than the first in the ini file ?
sorry, it’s a lot of questions but to help you we need more details than just : “this does not work”

I am using Sur exporter v.1.1 and going with splicing them. I kept the right order of the .surs and the model parts and of course named them accordingly to each other. And I’ve checked the dat and the Cons\fix node and they’re identical. The only thing that I do a different way is the convexity: some parts are convex, others are due to the shape of my model not convex at all. What I find strange about all this is that, although I don’t have all parts convex, the sur works perfectly on the station. I really don’t understand FL right now lol
