Resizing planets in SPH
-
Again I’m asking questions… And to the subject: How do they do it? What tool can be used to resize planets in SPH format? It was done somehow in Crossfire, probably by importers/exporters they created for private use. Is anybody working on something to do it? Or a tool for this alredy exists?
Please tell me.I’m not too active in this site and I’m not sure where to find stuff here. My activity here is mostly threads and posts.

All you need is UTF edit. Open up the .sph file and adjust the radius entry. Make sure you also alter the solararch entry, too.
There’s nothing secretive about it, so I don’t know why you’re insuinating Crossfire has done something wrong. There any many mods out there with altered planets.

Agree with Sushi, nothing sinister with Crossfire using them, many of us have had giant planets in their mods for years, me included

The solararch and the .sph are two seperate things.
When you open the .sph up in UTF, you look for the specific “radius” entry after you expand the “Sphere” tree. Honstly, you can’t miss it. At that point, you alter the radius using the float array.
The solararch is another thing that you adjust. This is where you can replace the .mat on the planets if you have custom ones. It’s here where you also adjust the planet radius on the entry "radius = "
