W02bF for Synth Foods, Inc.?
-
As the game is now, Synth Foods, Inc (co_ni_grp) doesn’t have a base, and consequently no W02bF in Universe.ini
Is there a way to calculate one? Or can I just use the next free number? Or use one of an existing ‘like-minded’ faction? (For Synth Foods, I’d pick Cryer).
What does these W02bF names do anyway? Does the game actually use them?

I dunno, guess you could change one to an alternative value and see what changes (whether they say something different?)I’ve used other Factions’ in the past, sometimes just because I forgot to alter it after copying-and-pasting. Never noticed anything. My question just comes from a freakish desire to do it all neat and proper 8-)

Would FLexplorer generate it for you if you used it to create a base? Could be worth a try.

Even more work than going thru DwnUndr’s tutorial I think

Thanks! For the moment I’ll think I’ll just pass on a Synth Foods base, and go thru all of this when I will undertake the dreadful task of creating sound entries for my new systems, bases and factions. (I estimate this will be somewhere between 2015 and 2020 )
Btw, I think a combination of your tutorial and the Adoxa-enhanced XML project will be the best way to achieve that.

Universe.ini (my copy from FLSDK 1.5) lists Atka Research Station, a Cryer base, as W02bF18 while both Damon’s 2003 list of W02bF names and Adoxa list W02bF13 as the appropriate W02bF name for Cryer. I’ve noticed other discrepancies, so I guess it’s really not that important.
