FLE crashes on mod load
-
When loading the latest version of Broken Bonds in FLE, I get the following error:
@FLE:
Cannot open file: C:\Games\Freelancer\DATA\EXE\dacom.ini
Thing is, I seriously doubt the dacom.ini in the FL folder is really the problem, as FLE loads the previous version of the mod without incident. I’ve tried reinstalling FLE and Freelancer both, and the error persists. The game loads the current dacom.ini just fine, so I doubt I screwed that up, either.
I can do systems without FLE if I really wanted to, but it’s a real time saver to lay things out in FLE then tweak it manually, so figuring out this error would be really nice.

Well, that’s facepalm worthy. I’ll have to look into why it’s looking in DATA, then. Hopefully I find something.
EDIT:
Everything’s in the proper place in the mod and in the Freelancer folder. I’ll look at it some more in the morning when I’m actually awake, but I’m not seeing anything offhand. -
Well, that confirms it. I can’t figure out what’s going on here. The EXE is not, and never was in the DATA folder, and I’m not seeing any sort of configuration files or anything else that references the wrong place (or the right one, for that matter).
Help?

mod and freelancer folder?
Shooting in the dark - error in the freelancer.ini (the ini file that says where other resources are located?). Can’t remember if it contained “path to” type entries.
Alternatively, if you’re telling it the “mod folder” to work upon - have you perchance accidentally selected the data folder instead of the Freelancer folder? It’d explain why it’s looking in the Data/Exe (which doesn’t exist) instead of Freelancer/Exe (which does exist)… -
It wasn’t in the freelancer.ini. I narrowed the source of the problem down to the script.xml. I’ve looked in the script, and it looks OK (and the mod works fine, and the only scripted option works perfectly), so I think FLE’s just getting confused.
I’ve got the team’s coder going over it with a fine-toothed comb, but I suspect I’m a victim of FLE’s buggy nature rather than a mistake in the script.
