Trade Lane Speed

I’ve been working on custom trade lanes lately for the Broken Bonds mod. I haven’t really hit a snag, but I’m exploring my options. Since the two houses use different technology to accomplish the same thing, I’d like the two lane types to have slightly differing speeds.
I know that TL speed is normally defined as a constant, but I was wondering if there was any to override that, either in the solararch entry (that would be easiest) or in the individual system INIs. I’m guessing the answer is a resounding ‘no’, but it doesn’t hurt to check to be sure.

Try changing the number of segments in a lane, if there’s only two segments the ship accelerates to max speed over half distance and the decelerates from the half way point to the end.
If you want something really different try 3D lanes by adding some +/- Z axis displacement, the ships will descend and ascend the lanes in a hull horizontal orientation kinda like an escalator.
Or orientate a new set of lanes horizontal although you’ll have to edit the docking Hp’s or your ship will rotate 90 degrees to align with the TL

Adoxa, I think you’re responsible for like, a quarter of the neat stuff in Broken Bonds at this point.
EDIT: Actually, Adoxa, I’m wondering - Does this do full acceleration? Because I can’t exactly make heads or tails of if it does or not.

Not sure what you mean. You can see your real speed by using FL Hack (btw, the plugin will override Hack’s lane speed) or patching Freelancer.exe directly:
freelancer.exe 0D597A 999i = speed over which “–-” is displayed ~Dev
Just did another test, going from Manhattan to West Point. Default (2500) takes about 28 seconds; using lane_speed = 3500 took about 20 seconds. That’s in SP, though, s’pose I better test MP… Yep, same.
