New details makes it perfect, still, IMO, there are some that was better in first version.
I would delete all red parts.
Cockpit was better looking, CM and Mine launchers will have more room and hardpoint for gun is too thick and sticking out too much.
Still - best so far!P.S. Shame for wings parts, that could be Defender of all’s Dreams!

Signed, especially with said cockpit. Sometimes you can also improve too much, but still looks very inviting. Good Work !

Alright, here’s a paint over. Tell me what you think before I modify the model tonight.
I wanted to do something with the cockpit, it just looked to plain to me.
And I was thinking of using custom mine and counter measure droppers to fit the existing slots.

It’s animated with the ring rotating and has a fairly ok sur. Will post a vid later so you can see it in action.

ok so i downloaded this fighter model off of Foundation3d.com and after doing so i looked and thought maybe i could use it to create a set of Re-Imaged Borderworld Fighters.
So here we are:
Re-Imaged Dagger:
Re-Imaged Stilletto:
Re-Imaged Sabre:
the original like i said i got from Foundation3d.com in the resources->downloads->meshes->Epic Encounter
I kept the basic structure, removed allot of greeble details, restructured certain areas, added new weapons, a shield generator, mine and countermeasure dropper, and thruster (last 3 are not visible in current renders.). I also added new greeble details in a few areas, then extrapolated the stilletto and sabre.

I used to make ship models for Freelancer about 7 years ago (I was on the original Evolutions mod team). Star Citizen ignited the 3d modeling bug again so I decided to dig through my archives and see what I still had left. A lot of stuff has been lost over the years but did have a few things left.
These are models that have completed cmp’s and mat files.
These are unfinished models:
I fired up my modeling software and started working on some of my unfinished work but exporting models for Freelancer seems a daunting task now. It seems that there have been some real progress made since I last involved in the modding scene so It’s like I have start all over again.
Still just working on 3d models has been like hooking up with an old friend. I’m happy to see that people are still working on the old game too

Welcome back Mr X. I remeber seeing these on the old Evo site years ago, was a little dissapointed when they never made it game side. Particulary the Junker ship and the mini Hellhound Xeno fighter, the texturing on the old 'stang looks pretty good too. Any chance of a download?

The last one is inspired by the Navy fighters from Cowboy Bebop: The Movie? It looks awesome.Yes! You’re the first person to recognize the design

Real life was kicking my butt at the time and I burned out, I only ended up finished about 25% of what I had started.
The Mustang texture was done for a clan on a single server mod, I made a matching one for the WC Banshee as well.
I’m more than happy to upload all my finished models for general use but I have to warn you that I didn’t have all the nifty tools you guys have now. So no custom .sur files or animation.
Now that I think about it I can upload Ospreys Sentinel and the APS ship pack as well since I exported those myself and was given permission to distribute the models.

And the camo one is inspired by a Homeworld 2 concept art, right? I recognize the one with the scull and flames too as a HW2 concept. There is not so much starship arond I am not familiar with :-D…sometimes I make a ship and then I find a similar design on the internet…:)
BTW have you guys noticed how good ANY starship looks with camo? It makes little sense in space but gives the ship the cool military look.

Actually the camo ship (Grendel), the one with skulls (Loki) AND the Mustang (the one with the blue bits) were all heavily inspired by homeworld concept art.
I also agree with you 100%; Camo does make a starfighter look kick@$$.
