Crash with 1.6.0
-
Hey all,
We’ve been getting rare crashes every once in a while caused by FLHook. They’re unlike anything I’ve seen before, hence I’m a bit puzzled.
It seems to appear randomly and it only displays an error dialog box which is saying: “abnormal program termination”. It appears to be a Visual C++ error. The issue is that this box does not close down by itself, so the server doesn’t restart automatically.
Thankfully, it only appears every few days, but it’s problematic nonetheless. Has anyone experienced a similar behavior?

During my testing with Biocross I have never encountered this error, however I have no additional plugins (other than those that come with the base package from the Forge)
I am using it very regularly and for long periods of time, I also use the socket connection pretty much non stop…
Could either be a rogue/bugged plugin or something to do with your Windows Installation…

Using the original precompiled release.
The message box doesn’t give any offset and looking at the event viewer doesn’t help. I see a few crashes with an “unknown” module and a few different offsets, but couldn’t really tell which is the culprit.
It feels like the crash doesn’t actually appear in the event viewer since it doesn’t use standard error reporting.
That’s the error window that appears, just with the path to flserver.exe instead. -
I can only suggest trying an unofficial patch of flhook 1.6.0. This is used on three of the discovery servers and doesn’t crash in the way you report.
