Model Questions
-
While trying to make the B5 Jumpgate to work in Freelancer (has any1 got this to work btw?) I have come across a odd bug. Using the multi-chunk cmp tut of Sushi’s and his multi-part sur tut, I think I have everything in the cmp ready for sur creation. Here is my bug: Since my Cmpd\Root is referring to my Sur root’s .3db, and not the original root source; if I Drag/Drop the HP’s into the SurRoot.3db Vref node, in HardCMP, the HP show up twice. If I put them in the orig root source, or any other .3db that deals w/the model itself and not sur related, they don’t show in HardCMP.I suppose I could manually input them and tell them which Part to park it at, if it came to that.
Any ideas?Second Question:
I have made my single mesh primitives for the Sur splicer. I created my boxes, and in order to get them to cover the desired surface, I had to stretch the box. I know extruding wouldn’t work, so I grabbed the corner verts and moved along the Z axis far enuf to cover my surface. Here’s my question. What name do I give these parts in ms3d before I export them? Is it the Object name I imputed for the Cons_fix data, or something else entirely? (w/or w/o a _lod1 added to it)Fus

As it turns out, I just finished fixing b5jumpgate for Hostile Universe (also used by Evolutions 1.30 and others, I guess). Is that the one you mean? Fixed the location and orientation of the docking, added green lights at the front, red at the rear and added a proper .sur file. Now you can actually click anywhere on the gate to select it; it doesn’t disappear when the center goes off screen; and you can collide with it.

I am referring to the Jumpgate from the TV series Babylon 5.
I was planning on the Red/Green docking lights as well, but fixing the bugs comes first. Does any1 have any answers to my questions?Fus
