Sur file issue
-
I’ve been using the sur exporter 1.2 with milkshape. I’ve tried it on some models to get a better figure hugging sur file, on some models it works, others not.
The problem i’m having is that sometimes the sur file ends up slightly below and in front of the model, no idea why, like it’s off centre. Is there any way to correct this?

“FLModelTool10ab6”.
Ye can manualy set the .sur’s center point… Its tricky… and mostly Trial and error… but it will fix “most” of these type of problem m8

Worked out a different way to do it. After a chat with Sushi, he turned me onto v1.1 of the exporter as i personally think after all this that 1.2 is rubbish. I looked for the most awkward model i could find. Case in point, the Endeavour from Starlancer. I did it with a shield bubble as this way i got a figure hugging sur as opposed to shrink wrapping it. 1.2 just couldn’t achieve the result below

Ok, i discovered the joys of v1.1 yesterday which has helped things no end. There are however still some issues. On some models with rounded surfaces like the marsflyer for instance, i can create the sur file ok but FLModelTool won’t import it, even though i can see the sur file in HardCMP.
It’s tiny compared to the model as all it needs is resizing, what’s the secret to doing this if the sur file can’t be imported to modeltool? I have about half a dozen sur file models this seems to be affecting, all need resizing, none of them will load in

If u mean v1.2 of the sur exporter then yes, i find it complete rubbish compared to 1.1 but that’s just my experience with it. Doesn’t make any difference to the size of the sur file created either, it’s FLmodel tool that’s not importing it. I know there’s a way to manually resize a sur which is what i’m actually after
