First come first serve i think is the best way to do all save freelancer posts like this one. If you dont get in quick enough you miss out but you cant complain because everyone was given the oppurtunity to submit something to it.
I was lucky to get MU’s ss in as i was on holiday all of last week and it was only by chance i checked the forum and saw the post about it.

@HK: And nobody said vanilla servers couldn’t submit screenshots as far as I’m aware. If they didn’t, tough luck to them.
@Roo: Good to hear

Much love.

Shouldn’t Vanilla Freelancer Servers be included as well? There are many out there that have great RP that are not modded. No favoritism should just be given only to modded servers. It was the Vanilla servers that impressed many to make the additions for the game in the first place.Equal Opportunity here. Correct?
As stated, equal opportunity was given - Procyon, which made the list (apparently with time to spare, no less) is vanilla through and through.
Given the fact that vanilla gameplay is at this stage often overlooked in favor of modded gameplay (for some reasons that I agree with to a certain extent, and others that I disagree with very strongly), I’d like to thank Roo for helping to give us the chance to get our name out in ways that probably would not have otherwise been possible.

It just seemed like a very short noticed and that many may not of had the time to see the ad. You’re right though, tough luck for them.
I would have offered my server with it’s new mod under construction but, I see it like this, I join forums all the time and leave my forum web url but, even though I show courtesy enough to join those forums and view their forum and register to learn more about them, and can see how many visit my profile, I don’t get the same respect from them to view my forum of which you have to register to do so. I don’t make any difference to me. I’m not a beggar of members so my forum looks the most busiest out there. I’ve deleted over 500 as is.Some of us could use help from more advanced people as yourselves but, why should I send all my members away to just hang out here or there and not return? I do the searching and return with answers I’ve learned from those who have them.
I don’t have the FLCN bar but I have the server rings on some that are still using html but on those that don’t, links are provide in my portal.
I’m just tiered of being given the run around when I’ve been dealing with servers and cheaters and other issues as long and many of you have and much longer than those that are here now.
Glad that Roo has been given the change to excel in something he’s always wanted to do and hopes that it bring him great fortune in the long run.

HK, it isn’t about respect. You’re hosting a server site; if I’m already playing somewhere, what exactly would I do by going to your site? Modding questions are best answered here so that they help everyone in the process, and I don’t have anything else I can think of that I could do on your site.
If you don’t want to show people other sites, it’s your go, even though I disagree with the idea very strongly. You’re just painting things as if, by showing them other sites, they’ll all leave your server. Are you so afraid that others can offer better value? I doubt it. Well then, why not show them what’s out there? If you are confident in your server and mod (And I hope everyone, be it you or me or anyone else, is), people will most probably keep hanging around, but they’ll be even more faithful to you as they will have seen what’s out there and will still prefer what you offer. If you hide what exists, you only end up clustering the community even more for no reason.

(Don’t take it personally, it’s my opinion and has nothing to do with you in particular)

Thank you for the kind comments. Much appreciated.
I put the feature on hold whilst TSP was down. As TSP does feature in the article, I wanted it to be up before work continued.
Now things seem a little more stable, I will once again begin work on it.
Thanks.

I do show other sites on my forum but as of now, with my forum being hosted by FF, they don’t allow html anymore and the server ring doesn’t work and neither would the FLCN Bar. I lost all that and even my TS viewr and more. I have to use worded links now and yours has been there for some time since the transition from the phpBB v2.0 to the v3.0.5 style. I try to include most English sites because all my players are mainly English speaking and if the sites are in German, French, Russian (?), etc… they won’t visit them anyway. I have a translation button in my browser so they don’t bother me as long as the translator does a half way decent job.
My partner has the server ring on his forum because he is getting ad-free hosting from a private host. It works fine on his forum but not added the FLCN because he hasn’t a server up anymore so, it’s not really needed. The Server ring works fine but it’s not complete with all sites, it was one of the first ones created before it got more added to it.
However, I have visited many other forums where others have servers and players have problems and get help and often got help from them, not just here all the time. I spend more time searching forums for answers than asking for help in hopes that I can use what I find on them to figure it out on my own. Getting 4/5 different replies only confuses me and many times, the replies end up in a discussion between others and veer off of what I need to know, into something else.
Disregard the above post now anyway, it doesn’t matter to me anymore. I may leave gaming altogether. I’m going through some real tuff RL times right now and things are just building up in me. The way the economy is here right now, I’m stuck with a big decision to lose what all I have to go back home and try to help the situation there. If I leave, I lose everything, If I stay, I lose my Dad without seeing him. I only see one other option but, that wouldn’t solve the problems at hand, only create more hurt.

Hi all,
A massive thank you to everyone involved and helping me. Including a big thank you to FriendlyFire for putting up with me hounding him on MSN.
I am pleased to share the link straight through to the article.
http://www.xboxliveaddicts.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=40004
We, as a community, now need everyone to do thier part and share the link with everyone. We need to help spread the word and build everyones knowledge of the fact the game still lives.
If you are unhappy sharing a link to a Xbox Fan site, feel free to instead share the link to my personal blog. The feature is also repeated on there.
I have a new little scheme up my sleeve next, so keep your eyes peeled.
Regards,
R.

There was a time I like most, would never have put a link in a “Server Forum” pointing to a “Community Forum” like The Star Port.
However I would like to think we have grown past this super obsessive “No Recruiting for Bal, Bla,” and “That is a form of it as there is other Servers or Mod’s on that site” mentality that once crippled much of the “Community” in our community.
But now I do, when I have a player or user with a problem I and the other Admins on our Server cannot solve it. I have zero problem with placing a link in the clear on the forum pointing to The Starport’s Freelancer Support .
There is little reason to believe placing a link will cost you players if you consider how few people can master typing “www.goggle.com” “Freelancer, Servers, Online” and looking at a list. If they wish to change server, they will.
That’s just my opinion on it.
And, Roo, Fantastic Article… Please keep them coming!!!

I’ll be adding a link as well to help move it along. 8-)

Various links within the article have been clicked over 700 times. Hopefully this will result in some new members.
@gameandplay retweeted my review link to on thier own twitter account which went out to an additional 750+ followers. Hopefully that will again raise some more interest.
