Weird issue .mat Oc setting
-
Umm, i have an unusual problem i have never had before, not a big deal, but if i could solve it, i would:
The Oc setting doesnt work in the ship’s mat file… No matter what values i type in, the Oc stands at 0.9. The Dc setting works well.
Every ships i made, have same settings in ms3d and .mat as well, so i dunno what would be the problem.Any idea?

SOLVED??
WHAT and HOW?

Yep… wanna know too… always good to know a new trick

I opened an existed vanilla mat by utf, selected its glass/Oc, and i simply copied the int array, float array, string values into my glass Oc, saved them one by one, then i bought again my ship, checked the Oc, saved the game, set this vanilla Oc as it looks good to my ship, and checked again in game.
Aaand…. it worked. Doesnt matter how stupid it sounds, it worked.
Also i spotted another “bug”, i dont know if you guys already know it or not i write here:
Many times i had to redefine the runninglights in hardCMP (position), and in the goods.ini (colors). If i had saved game of that ship i wanted to modify its RLs it wasnt enough if i save the new settings, and opened the save game, the RLs never changed, they hold the previous settings. So, i have to buy again, to get the new settings.
Funny thing is, only runninglinghts have this bug in hardCMP, and goods.ini.Hope it helps those ppl who have same problem

Not sure if the lights issue is a bug but i found myself in the same spot when i changed them…
I finally added ALOT placeholders into the goods.ini and only changed the light_equip.ini as i want my lights to be. That way i don’t have to buy a new ship all the time. It’s only a work around i know.
There is a mod which has a lights shop, “Hamburg City”, however i do not know how they handle it.
And about changing Hp’s… I came across something weird too. Sometimes when i placed Hp’s in hard_cmp they were changed in orientation and sometimes in position too. Actually i think they were put to the next surface if i had them inside one object. Maybe they were too close to the edge or something idk, it finally worked when i changed that object to have a real interior, like say ur object is a sphere and u substract another smaller sphere from it u get a real “hull”.
Not sure if this helps, just my observation.
