I’m always open to some… arrangement, provided the price is right.

[about WoW]It has been fun the first 4 weeks, after that its getting back to doing the same.
I stopped raiding because i can’t find the time anymore. And after leveling 3 characters to level 85 i have seen the new zones a little bit too much.I can imagine; my initial excitement is also slowly shifiting towards the fatigue/boredom I had… But it’still nice atm. I’m happy with my worgen druid, but I’m still not quite used to being in the ally camp now (had some ally chars before, but mainly to get rich off cross-faction deals).
Never did any raids btw… Find it too much of a hassle. I even don’t like dungeons/instances that much. Or rather, the way most people want to play them (as fast as possible and skipping all trivial stuff - but to me trivial stuff is pretty much the quintessence of life ) Maybe Blizz should change their reward system.
Bit of a late response
But well, tried to do the worgen start area and i hated it the minute i had to fight my friends the forsaken/undead.
Im Horde all the way, with all 4 chars (at 85) now.
The raiding is ok. But i miss the excitement and the community as it was before.
I am a healer on 3 characters, and i basicly have a say in dungeons, and believe me; i hate skipping stuff in them as well.
Right now im back to semi active raiding, 3 times a week for 3 hours per evening. I do this with good friends, and that makes it nice. -
I’m pretty sure we’ve moved the domain to new DNS servers with the host switch.

So if you wondered about the ddos attacks a few days ago (slow loading), seems like they came from the Freelancer: Continuum mod, aka the TLR.org mod:

I wonder what kind of grudge they have against us?
If anybody knows anything, please let us know. -
The entire TSP staff got banned… I guess just because we were there. Think half the team hadn’t posted a thing at that point.
But I don’t really care, it’s just funny to see.
-
Yes, you are banned.
Explaination:
In november 2010 (about 1 week after I got TLR from its previous owners) four TSP admins suddenly appeared at TLR (probably as reaction of a mass mailing to inform the TLR members about the changes). One of them started to open threads and started flaming TLR, its old owners and the new ones. Banning that TSP admin succeeded only after the IP was banned as multiple accounts (6) were created by that guy that evening.
Banning the other TSP admins was a preventional measurement as we assumed they would start similar behaviour due to their appearance at TLR right at the same time. Since that the bans remained active. If our judgement that day was wrong and the three remaining TSP admins did not mean to cause any harm then Id like to officially apologize to them.
(and of course will unban them if they wish)And now a few words to the ddos stuff and pointing to one of my sites and one of my teams.
Now seriously… does it always have to start this way?
You see something and one moment later you point your finger either to me, my communities, my team… or whatever. Last time it was the tutorial issue that i proved to be wrong… now its ddos attacks. Every 2 months such a crap… thats annoying. It doesnt lead to anything good. So can we please stop this crap? With the day that Ive taken control over TLR the attacks from there stopped.
You know very well that my own community was victim of the ddos attacks due to my support to TSP during the first year of its existence. I still remember all the nights that I talked with worfeh about these issues and how to stop them. I have never condone such methods nor will I allow it in future.
We have no interest in damaging TSP, we actually have no interest in doing harm to any FL community. That would be pretty much like shoting in the own foot. You can consider Folgores statement about ddos as serious as the “•Get OP Skype for his Birthday, if not, gift him a time-bomb” that was said at the same post -> a weird joke
The TLR staff and modding teams consists of people from various FL communities. Some of them are regular users and well respected members of TSP. It makes not much sense that these people would cause harm to this place, dont you agree? I also vouch for Folgores integrity as he would not even consider to damage his good reputation as developer of various mods in different games.
If someone is attacking TSP then someone else is doing it (I would not want to point my finger on someone as I could not prove it).
TSP represents a big part of the FL community. So does TLR/SWAT. All troubles between our communities cause damage to FL. Nobody of us wants that. I can understand that personal grudges have a big weight but they harm both communities and finally the players. We should at least try to get along.

I was well aware this was guilt by association, OP. I don’t really care whether you unban me or not, and I will not start a big thread on what you consider to be flaming and how one guy can cause everyone else banned. Despite your negativity we haven’t banned you for it, and that’s not because we werent tempted trust me!
As for the rest of your post, I personally saw it as a joke. A terrible one at that, but I’m not blind. It’s just ironic how these kinds of jokes never tend to show up on here or FLC or Digital Brilliance or basically any other site.
-
Maybe I wasnt the only person showing a negative attitudes towards other people. I remember getting at least the same amount thrown into my direction but ok, things happened. One word leads to another and everything leads to a big mess. However, negativity doesnt get anyone banned, broken rules (by purpose) do. Thats why one TSP admin was banned. For the other 3 bans I apologize.
Their appearance at TLR after almost 3 years not being there and just at a time that another TSP admin decided to break the forum rules in alphabetical order looked kinda “weird”.I am not 100% why you think that weird jokes about other people or sites just happen at TLR. Infact it was the very first time that something like that happened since I am owner of that site. Next to that I only would need to browse through the recent threads about DVDMan/Polarbear to find 2-3 weird comments about TLR and SWAT.
Question would be how to prevent such stuff in future in the interest of both sides.
-
Why is the word “starport” or “TSP” also banned on TLR.org? That makes no sense at all, either. You talk about all “for the good of the Freelancer community” BS but that still exists.
As for access there, I don’t really care, you burned your bridges already.
-
You shouldn’t be so bloody paranoid OP. It was paranoia that caused you to ban them for doing nothing wrong. You shouldn’t take many things I say too seriously either, I was taking the piss with regards to Poly being a suitable apprentice for you, I don’t expect you to see the funny side of it, but then again it wasn’t meant for you. You’re a big boy, just shrug it off for what it is, me taking the piss as usual.

I do not wish to single out Broken Bonds as a target, but I would like to note that I (and probably the rest of the BB staff, though I cannot speak for them) believe that this is extremely immature and childish behaviour coming from the administration team and staff of TLR. If you are not behind the attacks as you claim, then maybe you should disallow your members from posting words that implicate you in such things!
I do not wish to anger those who are a regular part of TLR, but in my opinion, some of what has transpired here does not strike me as something that a good, friendly community should be doing/allowing to be done.

The attacks have never stopped. We get attacked regularly.
You can consider Folgores statement about ddos as serious as the “•Get OP Skype for his Birthday, if not, gift him a time-bomb” that was said at the same post -> a weird joke
Since we get attacked from a ~700 ip botnet pretty regularly, I’m very nervous about who could be it and why they would do it.
Once it was AzzA, the former hoster of TLR.org, and now a member of a “featured” mod drops such a comment. Kinda gives you an idea… -
To answer your question.
1. Because of TSP users which recently came to TLR and started to post links to TSP on every occasion eventhough the same topics and files could be found at TLR + their try to redirect TLR members to TSP.
2. Because of the removal of certain items from TSP -> such as the Crossfire video
3. Because of meanwhile 2 news items which never got the chance to be posted here.
4. Because also dont allow linking to TLR when people asked old FL related topics. You linked to the FL Archives instead to TLR where these “archives” originally come from.Just to sum up. We had reasons and we have just set up the limitation a few weeks ago as reaction to the previously stated reasons.
The only linking that was allowed from here to TLR/SWAT is that small button on the left of this site. That is about the same that we have on our sites. -
For the Crossfire video, really unsure who did that as it definitely wasn’t the three current admins. Everyone is welcome to post their videos here. I doubt you will as as I’m sure you enjoy holding this issue in your back pocket to “justify” your actions against TSP. Regardless, that makes point 2 garbage.
Recently we found out there was a problem in the news reporting system here at TSP which has since been rectified. So that makes point 3 moot. If you want to post news about Crossfire, go for it. PM the admins here about it and we’ll make sure it gets up.
As for the other reasons, whatever.

w0dk4 - i can understand that and i am sorry to hear that TSP is still victim of the attacks.
However the topic Azza is done for me. I asked him for TLR and I asked him to stop the attacks against the FL communities involved. Up to now he has kept his word and actually I havent seen him since november 2010.
Next to that AzzA never was the kind of guy which did hide from anything. When he ddosed you then he told you right in the face.Probably he still does the attacks but he doesnt hide at TLR.
@sushi, who of the staff did something is not my problem,
fact is only that it was done and that it was one of our reasons.
I can understand and accept it is possible that news submission did not work due to a software failure. Ok, that happens. We couldnt know that and obviously you didnt notice it aswell for at least 1 1/2 years.@Kazinsal
Do you really think it would be possible to disallow every eventuality that might be misunderstood by readers? If you start writing rules for everything that might happen or that might be said then you end up with a rulebook of thousands of pages. TSP also has no mechanism which would prevent such sort of stuff. The only thing an admin can do in such a situation is react (which I did btw.). Illegal activities itself are not allowed and prohibited by our rules. -
That video thing is news to me. We never remove videos. We receive so few it would be ridiculous to do so. We did however have to remove BROKEN videos. If you have moved the video elsewhere for any reason, the link might have been broken and pruned. This is normal. We don’t want the site to show “error X” when loading, we want working videos. I’m pretty sure one of the Underverse videos was lost at some point because of that.
As for the links, wow, that’s no reason. If somebody keeps spamming about stuff, you ban him. Simple as that. Censoring a word because one user is doing something wrong with it is stupid and counterintuitive. If I started spamming Crossfire links on TLR all the time, would you censor “Crossfire”? Oh wait, you’d have banned me on the first offence. You just find it very practical that you have a good excuse for censoring TSP… Just like when AzzA was around. Funny, isn’t it?
And for the archives, give me a break. We’ve already gone over this and you have no more of an ownership claim on them than we do. You have a tenuous link going through 4 or 5 past administrators and one domain name change. You would NEVER have recovered the data if it hadn’t been for Worfeh. Just drop the fucking issue already.
So basically you have nothing to stand on and are just taking the piss, which is nothing out of the usual. Move along folks.
