About the topic, G-man has a point. Its impossible yet to enhance the rank of a ship. Use hardwear to add those stuff on your gunboat, also on other ships as you want.

I don’t think adding weapon hardpoints would be possible (what’s in the cmp is what you’re stuck with), but hiding existing ones might be, only showing them when you have a certain item or rank. Don’t hold your breath, though…
