HpFire and Shotgun weapons
-
hey peeps, Id like to make a shotgun weapon for my mod, ive read that you need HpFire hardpoints to make a weapon shoot more than one projectile when it fires?
ive looked in HardCMP and i couldnt find this kind of hardpoint.
I also managed to get dispersion on my weapons by reading around on the forum so i was wondering if somebody knew how to set up a weapon that shoots many shots at once.

I seem to remember a thread asking about how to implement such a weapon…
I can’t help you with HpFire, but iirc one of the suggestion was to make a really fast shooting gun with a high dispersion and a large energy drain. So, firing it would deplete your energy in a second or something, and stuff would spray errywhere.
Anyway, it’s an idea if you can’t get it to work the way you want it.

You add HpFire01-0x through hardcmp. You click add new hardpoint then you make it fixed and click “not from list”. Add the custom hardpoint via there.

however now no sound is played when I fire the weapon… which is more of a problem than the shotgun not working at all…

ok so, ive got sound on my gun, and it shoots 5 projectiles, now the problem is that because the sound effect can seemingly only be linked to the projectile itself and not the muzzle flash, the sound plays 5 times everytime i press the fire button, one time for each projectile obviously.
so it is audible, but its like when you have a sound file in a sound editor, and you increase the volume so much that the top and bottom of the wavelengths flatten and you get that odd distortion.
id like it to only do the sound once if possible.

I’ve got the strangest feeling adoxa did a hack for it, but there’s no plugin or offset that I could find from a cursory look for you.
Given how old that thread is, it’s possible it’s been fixed in the time since, but it might be prudent not to get your hopes up.
