New mod thinking of making, not a modeller though.

If I posted in the wrong section. Sorry
Hey, I had a idea for a Freelancer mod, probly be easy to replace ship models of another mod and base if off another. The mod name I had in mind is “Freelancer: Pilgrimage”. Basically similar to Discovery mod, just alot of thinks changed. Several new factions and something I haven’t seen yet in a Freelancer mod, Alien races, other than the Nomads. Replacing models should be stright forward, but some of the models I wish were made, basically in the “Queued to be brought out”, cause appearently, Dev Teams perfer a model to work with instead. For what reason, I have no idea why they don’t think of trying with concepts. They also laugh at the fact I use programs that are unorthodox to their “We use REAL Programs” mentality. Only one that didn’t object to it was SWAT_OP-R8R on ModDB, which was actaully nice, since I explained why in teh first place. I’m pretty desent when it comes to visual graphics.
I get the whole deal with the TGA files and the system for those. Im just not every good with modeling programs, although I could learn about em, never seem to agree with what Im doing. Yes, tried to fix it, doesnt work. So, yeah. I will post in the right section, if this isnt and belongs there, then sorry for doing so. But anyway, that was my Idea. If someone starts a mod named it, I would like to be part of the Dev Team, if you wouldn’t mind :3 Im quite easy to get along with.

While I wish you luck with your endeavors, I’m afraid you’re going to have a hard time convincing people to work on your mod idea while at the same time having to do most of the work.
You must realize that you not just need modellers, you also need coders, texturers (not all modellers do textures, be it well or at all), writers, programmers with FLHook’s popularity… It’s no small task, and a dedicated person who’d be willing to start a mod probably would rather work on their own idea.
If you want to see your idea done, your best bet is to get started. If modelling isn’t your cup of tea (trust me, it ain’t mine either), try out coding. It’s fairly easy to understand and you can do a lot with that. If you were to act as leader and do code and concepts, you’d have a chance to attract key team members and get your project realized.

FF’s right. And here’s other way(May not better than FF, and really take long time to go):
Start with a small project, and setup a very stable server, then, get player to play it.
When you have player, some of them will willing to work with you as a mod team member. You can choice capable people to your team and work together for larger project.
And PS, don’t study a people here call JONG, this guy working for many year for their own mod, and still are a commander without privates. Just look hes signature. (no offence, just saying even you have player, this way still not 100% make sence)
