Old timer to the game, new to this forum :)

Hi there!
Been playing this game on and off for around 7 years (I think), played Discovery, FW:ToW, NSU, Flak, Next Gen 2.6.5 among other mods.
Currently back at NSU. Been debating doing a TC mod for Freelancer for a long time so I reckoned registering with this forum would be a good start!
Hopefully I might see some of ye in one of the mods.

Welcome back to FL! remember you can check out any time you like but you can never leave! LOL
If you’re considering a TC mod the Freelancer Total Conversion Mod Starter Pack 3.0 is a great place to start.

The Freelancer Total Conversion Mod Starter Pack 3.0 is the editable parts of the game with all the unused system data, ships commodities etc stripped away.
You use FLMM to activate it into a clean FL install, it’s set up with 3 starter systems and a few ships, a kind of sandbox really. As to modding tools my favourite is FL Mod Studio it allows editing on the activated mod (unlike FL E) and you can copy and paste between systems check out the link.

There’s several other tools like FL Developer, Hard CMP, FL Companion and a good test editor like Notepas ++

If you’re just starting out I’d recommend you read Giskards section on system building see the link below

scroll down (about 40%) to find
“System Building from scratch by giskard”
This will cover the basics of what you’re wanting to do in relation to bases, tradelanes, planets etc

I’ve added a zip file containing a collection of tutorials
