Case Modding

Has anyone here built a custom cabinet for a PC system? I’ve been thinking about building a gaming PC with multiple CPUs, motherboards, etc. I’d like to make my own case with two motherboards and CPU’s (RAM, etc.), maybe a monitor/input switch, and run a server on one CPU while using the other to play/mod/web/etc, all in one box.
Cooling would be something to think about. I deal with household appliances in my job and I noticed that refrigerator fans run very quiet and move a lot of air. It could be something that could be mounted on the case to move air between the motherboards to keep the system cool.
Thoughts?

I’ve seen a lot of cool builds by random people, many using these hollow desks with a glass top to make entirely integrated computers into their workspace.
I’d be careful, though. Unless you also happen to be an aerodynamics expert, you run the chance of building a case with catastrophic air flow. It’s not necessarily impossible, but it’s a lot of work and especially planning.
