It’s blatant theft, simple as that, some people are retarded and think they can get away with crap like this.
On a more friendlier note, here’s a new version of the, yes, you guessed it, the Pachyderm, this time in tanker format. I bolted on a cradle structure and resized the original cargo containers from FL and ended up with this.

Ehrmm… , Gibbon m8, I said I took that ship from a guy called Onimuska. He left a pack with many ships without textures and I just added some pics in it. Got to say that the model was very “damaged”. Many vertex moved, unwelded parts everywhere, etc, etc. That guy surely picked your pack and played a bit with the models and what I got was that. Once fixed and retextured I posted it in our forums, and next day I got a link to a video with your ship flying :roll:. You might be dissapointed (I would), but somehow I’m happy to find its daddy. Good job, btw.

And as I said before, Psionic and Genestealer are NOT my designs, just textured and prepared for Freelancer. It was already ready to fly? I didn’t know it, and if I had knew it I would never made it, you can trust me. -

so what are you on about exactly as obviously he didnt steal your conversion.In Feb 2005 we had a little comp on the 3D Game Resources to skin a spaceship model I knocked up with the plan to zip em all up after the comp and give em away for free!! Well here it is…

The model and textures can be used for freeware, shareware or commercial games etc. A credit to the peoples texture work and maybe a link to 3D Game Resources site would be nice ;-))

I never said it was my model. Yes i converted it, but Psionic is the modeller not me. That ship is well known cos it was free to download, i was just the first to convert it and release it. That ship pack i made of his ships has been out for a couple of years now. Nobody is saying it was my conversion that’s been stolen as its not my ship to start with.
My point here is noone can just go round claiming a ship is theirs without doing a bit of research. I know all about the copyright notice with Psionics ships, i’m a member of his forum so need to remind me. It’s the lack of credit for the model that annoys me, specially with something as popular as Psionics ships. It’s a blatant ripoff, pure and simple
It’s like me taking your Waran freighter, altering it slightly and calling it my own, you’d be up in arms about it, no different

I’d say the real offender isn’t Hash, it’s Onimuska. He/She is the one who took the model without mentioning the actual original author in the first place.
But hey, the matter’s resolved now, ain’t it?

City Ship Valhal - Rangers
The mammoth city ships of the Borderlands Rangers are used a nodal fleet and trading points. Capable of ferrying either six squadrons of battlecruisers and supporting cruiser and destoryer flotillas or two full Squadrons of the Wall (Dreadnoughts and Super Dreadnoughts) into battle, a City Ship is a force to be reckoned with.

Very interesting designs to me. I like them, but you’re still on step one. Texturing is a very important part of the final look of the models. A horrible texture in a stunning shape is a horrible ship.
And you have to take care of the ratio guns/ship sizes. Freelancer’s weapons don’t fit in all models. At least that’s what I’ve learnt in my short experience.These are my last 3 babys:

im aware of texturing and such, and gun size. ive been doing this for quite some time, i just didnt frequent the boards untill recent. as for textures, aint my job, im just my team’s modeler. i do OK textures, they aint amazing, but my primary job is just making the ships.
and as for the ratio, for the most part, our mod calls for invisible weapons, and im in the process of making custom turrets for those that do require models.

Here’s some images of a ship I just finished the other day. Haven’t converted it for Freelancer quite yet since I have about 6 or 7 other ships that will be converted along with this one (and for those of you who know where this ship is from, yes, mobile suits will be following in short order lol)
Comes in at around 9200 total polygons.
Renders are done so as to show off both the texturing and the glow mapping.
