On the size comments, for my purposes, it’s only slightly bigger than a standard Rhino. For the project I was working on, the Rhino has been upscaled to be more of a gunship or escort corvette type craft.
Here’s a shot of the AWACS Rhino next to a Rhino from the above screenshot.
The Liberty Dreadnought also makes an appearance in my project with a scale more correct with what it’s textured on windows imply. (Meaning, its pretty big.)
Also I did not import the starsphere’s per se. What I did was export the textures from the starsphere’s and combine them myself to create background textures I can use on my own.

Textures messed up on me a bit around the cockpit and a bit on the fins.

Nicely done. I feel as the animation is a bit too quick, but that’s just a personal preference.

The first 26 seconds is the transformation sequence in slow motion. At about 27 seconds in you see the transformation sequence in real time. There’s a lot of technical fluff explaining how they can transform so fast, but transformation in general rarely take longer than a second or two.

According to some site I looked at transformation from fighter mode to gerwalker mode it takes around 3 seconds, longer if done automatically (as apposed to manually).

@about upscaling:
Sorry, but you can’t simply upscale the model as it is. Engine glows will be too small for engines new sizes, hardpoints for guns/equip will be too large for them, and the most important for me… the cockpit. Will be that ship piloted by giants? Because if you add the HpFixedPilot to that bigger cabin it’ll look pretty strange.

WHY knows what he’s doing. Take a look at his screenshots, doesn’t look like freelancer does it, because it’s not.

You can do anything with the models as long as it will server for an animation, picture, size comparison etc. Of course it will cause mess ingame but for a video or for the fun it is normal :-D. I am working too on a short video with realy small fighters Shame that the fellow creators of this game made the capital ships so unrealisticly tiny But we can make them big…lot more big For example:

Because a regular Rhino in what I’m using it for is so big in the first place, I didn’t really give the cockpit thing much thought. I just thought of it as a nice panoramic bridge instead of an upscaled cockpit. That and I also didn’t want modify the model that extensively. Even seemingly minor modifications can involve a huge amount of work when you have to seamlessly integrate new or original geometry.
I had been working with my upscaled Rhino’s for so long that I was actually surprised when I found out how small the vanilla Rhino was. I thought they were at least twice as big as they actually are in game.
That being said, that comment annoyed me enough to do this. This applies to the AWACS as well as the regular looking Rhinos now.
