Welll i turned op Direct Draw on my Windows 10 system and Freespace started up just fine. I sure do look forward to enjoying it.

I have it running fine on XP but would like to use the better screens and tech of 10 if possible. I am not at all interested in the debats over 10 and access. please do NOt post about that here.

what i need is help getitng the game to run on 10 period.

it loaded ok

but it wont start at all.

do I need to activate NET 3.5 in legacy settings? any other steps woudl help.

I have a fully original disk and a full boxed set.

Also interested in any good mods that fix faults and errors, and improve texture without chagning anything original at all. NADA…

just want to see the game as it was designed as well and as operational as possible

HI i am new here but not to Freelancer, i bought my first box copy in 2004 and started a play thru but life and work took me away. I was a member at Lanncer Reactor but when looking for mods and needed the high rez texture patch and ended up here, looking for the mod manager.

i hoipe to get Freelancer running on my 8.1 sysetm (wont start, cant turn on NET 3.5 due to refusing updates to protect me from 10)…and on my new 10 system wont start either. it runs like a charm on my XP SP3 Legacy machine tho.

any tips and suggesitons very welcome
