Well, that’s some really sad news.
Let’s hope one day this greatest mystery of life will be solved somehow. I mean, it won’t stop me from playing and all, but it’s something really uncomfortable anyway.
Thanks for your answers!

I’ve tried resetting my internect connection and all, I’ve tried running only the server and client after just bringing the system up.
It was after giving up on the “it’s my internet’s fault” theory that I came across that other thread (and similar results on google), it’s something with the server+client thing.
Besides, if it’s any good, all my friends play smoothly and lagless while I’m the only one having these lag moments, ironically.
Greetings, The Starport!
Cutting directly to the chase, the title says it all - I experience bad lag spikes from time to time when playing Freelancer on my own server.
This is a question that seems to have been discussed before on this thread - I thought I’d create a new one and link the original post as it’s years old.
Some background information:
More details on the problem:
I get small freezes every now and then that seem completely unrelated to any in-game event or situation.
It’s not when approaching planets, not when jumping, not when there are many enemies on-screen.
It just happens, randomly, and is quite disruptive (sometimes I miss the killing shot because of it, sometimes it just messes up my firing rotation, sometimes it’s just enough to take those extra hits to put me in trouble).
So… is there any update on why this happens, or what exactly causes it, maybe some creepy registry-editing workaround for it?
I have no extra computer around to use as dedicated server, so I’d really appreciate some alternative to it.
Thank you all in advance!
