that sux, I would have loved to see Stargate ships in action

I think some of those mysterious crashes are hook related
I had it skip loading hook and the server ran crash free for a couple days now
can’t use Ioncross with it right now because, it doesn’t have the right codes for the weapons, items, ships, and other equipment, in the Ioncross folder
trying to run it without the right data is making my Ioncross freeze on startup
need to find the hashcodes and fix that later
if I can find the spare time I will try to do that part for you

I have run it on a fresh install with the freelancer save folder deleted when I had that trouble
somebody told me that goofed up newcharacter.ini files will often do that exact error
I even reinstalled flmm and it didn’t change the error any
the strange thing is I’ve had some mods that did that before on my desktop computer and not when run on my notebook
yes, they were both running XP

once I adjusted it the way I mentioned it started working and it didn’t work before
it seems to need that other stuff for MP mode and not SP mode

like I said in my last post it seems to need the goods.ini file to have a reference for it to add necessary equipment
even if it used the starflier, the ship wouldn’t go anywhere without an engine and a power supply

I think it has to match a package in the goods.ini file because somethings likt the ships hull that are in that file have no reference and therefore are nonexistant
the package in the goods .ini file also tells the game what power supply, engine, and other extras are on it
with no power supply or engine it can’t fly

I checked the link from the flak forums and it indeed does bring me to a flawed file for Itano Circus
it looks for a package called ge_fighter which doesn’t exist in the goods.ini file
I did a bunch of checking and found it should read lf_package for the correct starting ship for MP

it could be possible that I need a newer version of the mod too
not sure why I never thought of that before

hey Why, got the MP part of Itano Circus working
just had to update the newcharacter.ini file with info from your mod instead of stuff from vanilla FL
just need to reach you to give you the updated version
seems to work fine in MP now

it’s fixed, seems the newcharacter.ini file called vanilla FL data not stuff from the mod like it should
just need to give him the updated mod

tried a fresh install and even started a server on vanilla as a test
the vanilla FL worked fine but, Itano Circus refuses to let me register characters still

M0tah is pretty good with hook
he designed the 88 Flak version
I’m hoping to find time to study hook and C++ so, I can try to make so extra stuff for hook as well
been wanting a chat program that will let you say hi to friends in FL without having to login
that way if you won’t be able to play for a little while you don’t have to login tell them and then leave

hook could probably dp it client side
wouldn’t lag the server then
wouldn’t let players other than the original owner buy the item that way

already did deleted the save files

yeah, I had changed part of the newcharacters .ini file but, after changing eveything back the way it was I still get the problem

the title stats the main problem, seems I can connect to the server but, no matter what name I pic, it claims the name is in use already
I have tried deleting the save folder with no change in results
for those of you that are interested, it’s a server for Itano Circus
I’m trying to get it working and am also going to be helping Why 485 to get it to run smoother in the process

I never knew him but, I’m sure he’s modding in a better place now
the FL community will miss you

I haven’t abandoned you guys, busy with 88 flak alot and another game called Secret of Solstice (RPG)
I still try to check back here and at TLR every so often to see what’s new on the sites

you could try going to the 88 flak forums, getting an account, and asking foxunit01
he seems to have gotten it to work quite well, plus the bases remain knocked out for a full minute
I don’t know if he registered here or not
if he did you could ask here and just have my inform him with an IM so he’ll check back sooner
