Guys, i will say this again for the last time, i’m using CRABTREES ADVANCED BATTLESHIP ADDON. Those familiar with it will know that its an all in one kit, everything included. I’m no noob at this, i know what to do but i’m just not sure why only the gunboats are misbehaving as the shield code looks fine and the correct hardpoints are there on the models

The BS encounter stuff consisted of minimum 2 parts:

i never had a problem with the ships and i used it too. theres a script file freelancer - bs encounters sheilds you can get this file from my order mod 58.64 i did not modify this only the advanced battleship script.

and that seems 2 be ok.
But the last script we used in WTS

has the gunboat stuff out commented.

I’m not angry at anyone, just wish people would read the original post. The only two answers actually to do with the question are from F!R and rsabatino, the other answers have nothing to do with the topic.
Moving on, thx for the replies. I have both scripts, the one that adds the shields and the encounters themselves. The encounter script seems fine as all the ships show up. I have the same shield script and it all looks fine. One thing i noticed on the test server last night was that sometimes the gunboats spawn with shields, sometimes not, which is even wierder than not having shields at all
As to where i got the files, i had Buck Danny’s unofficial 1.4 SDK lying around and its included with that. What’s frustrating to me as F!R has already said, it looks okay and i have to agree, it does. I can’t see anything wrong and seeing as its for vanilla i just don’t understand why i’m having these issues with just that type of shield. I mean i added shields to the cargo trains late last night and had no issues with those.

The latest thing i’ve tried is redoing the hardpoints on the affected ships. This seems to have helped but the Bretonian gunboat is still being a pain. What’s frustrating about all this is its intermittent. Sometimes they spawn with shields, sometimes not. Anybody know what might trigger such an event?

you might have loadouts from other battleships in the sdk this happened to me . mace let me use his broken oath mod to make the order mod . so i used his loadout and other stuff i didnt know how to mod. he allready had battleships and this caused the spawn like you have. his had no shields but the crabtree ones did. this could be the problem .

Only the 1.3 SDK. This is simply battleship encounters attached to FL, nothing more. Plus an intermittent appearance of the shields tells me they are working…. sort of. And why only the gunboats misbehaving? The other ships all turn up wearing the new shields. No other addons that would affect the BS encounters have been added

i just checked the buck danny sdk and he has load outs to battleships in it . what will happen is there will be double loadouts in the loadout files and you will problably have two different kind of battleships one with shields and one with out. thats my theroy. try getting rid of load outs special ini this is from advanced battleships script file . it adds battleships to the loadouts special.ini so if you have it allready in the sdk and advanced battleships you will two different kinds of battleships. again this just my theroy. i could be wrong.
