Milkshape and Rendering
-
ok so im using milkshape3d 1.8.4, and teh Freelancer CMP importer v2.7, but when i try to import the model, as it looks for the textures milkshape crashes. if i take off the autosearch, it wont crash but fails to find the files (i.e. 3daf23awsd intead of proper file names except maybe 1) so whats wrong? only other possible issue may be that the Freelancer files are copied over from another computer and this comp otherwise doesnt have FL installed…. (it just occured to me that maybe it has an issue because i didnt copy it to the program files folder… ill try taht and in the meantime see if you guys know whats wrong)
Id like help asap, thank you
edit: ok so putting it in Program Files/Microsoft Games did nothing (i didnt think it would). i also noticed that if i try to enter the file (its actually an access table or something… is that right?) multiple times it seems to find the names of the files but only a black texture and no other info.

I’ve had this same problem also, so i simply disabled (like you did) the auto search command and manually searched, by clicking on the Material button, the texture files should apear fine. It’s not a fix by it’s just a small inconvenience really.
Ozed.

Do you have the ship’s .mat file in same folder?
Is it original ship, or custom one? -
I can also confirm that this importer sometimes crashes, but it’s usually OK when you use it in manual search for the .mat file.
The author tried but couldn’t find the cause of this problem.
So like other utilities we have to live with it…
… until Lancer can find time to make a new good 'un!
