What about making some backup servers for the FLCN? if the starport goes down the FLCN goes down, it’s slowing down every site connected to it. It should be possible for servers to keep pinging each other, and when the backup server doesn’t get a responce, or high package loss it replaces the main server, until connection is established again. this can be done with P2P connections etc.

It’d have to wait for a time out before connection to another server. Wouldn’t go faster, just wouldn’t go down with TSP.
It’d become horribly complex to manage, too, because it means having code on the server and on all sites using the bar, while right now the JS is only on the server.

Jus offer the js to every freely to download. Its not that you will not open the code cause everyone can see it too.
And when an update should be available - announce that here on the forum and send a mass mail to all users. If people are intent to update theirs too - then they would come over here to get the update.Just my 50 cent^^
but maybe it’s possible to upload js and other files on googlecode and sites would get them there…
