UTF causes "Artifact" troubles (solved)

I was about to work on the Material Library of a new model and after i’ve changed the Type from DcDt to DcDtEt it actually showed me a entry of
DcDtÐ0ýýýý. I tried to change it and then a got this one DcDtEt
(some non standard symbols). After a new try i got a error message saying:Debug Error!
Program C:\……utf.edit.exeDAMAGE: after Normal block (#245) at 0x00F72E20.
(press Retry to debug teh application)
abort - retry - ignore.on abort and retry the editor will crash, on ignore it forces my entry but then it won’t work ingame.
This also appears while changing the material names in the Dc/Et_name entries,
I’m still using the old 1.0.01 UTF edit, also tried the 1.0.0.4 but there i already had that problem since the beginning.
Is anybody familiar with that bug? What can be done?

I have that quite often. Only solution I’ve found is to hex edit the file and remove the bad characters there…
