Gotta Hate Mod Theives

I would but they have deleted my account and now the admins need to approve new registrants. Guess they don’t want to “talk”.

No. Crazy has already said that the GLS will never be used to filter servers. While yes, it could be practical to ban offending servers from it, I fully agree with his decision to keep the GLS a neutral body.

I have e-mailed him (his e-mail was in the Welcome message when I first joined. Let’s see if I even warrant a message back). Also, according to their site it looks like you have to donate to get the password to the server, I don’t know how legal that is.

Do you mean “thieves”?
Nightstalker, I must say, in the Freelancer Game/Mod Community, you are the largest target for thieves now.
Many modders gone to a stupid wrong way, they made big and big mod, hurdreds ships, hurdreds systems etc, but without the ships/systems is nothing.
More serious problem is that, they cannot make so many ship by themselves, so they use those stolen ships.Nightstalker, you need happy if other use your ship model in theirs mods……

Normally if your work is used and your name is given as the creator, yes it is flattering even if you did not give your permission.
But here I disagree Nexose, it is disappointing, infuriating and hurtful when you see your work with someone else claiming it is his work.
Here the response (reading with extreme flexibility!) is implying they will remove Nightie’s parts from their mod - but has it been done?

Sorry to hear this man, it’s good you managed to get it resolved. Indeed, this seems to be going on a lot.
Also, on a side note,

Microsoft showed their interest in the future of Freelancer when they pulled the plug without so much as a warning or goodbye.I believe they actually announced exactly when they would pull the plug for Freelancer, plenty of time in advance. Microsoft honored their 5 year support of the game to the letter as far as I know.

They closed it a bit earlier than planned due to a hacking attempt at Microsoft servers through the GLS (we all know by who).
I believe it was planned to go down in March but went down December of the year prior instead.
