Really don't know what is wrong!!!

I’ve used FLdev for a while now, and had decided to move off of one personal project for another. After reinstalling FL and starting fresh to begin the next project, I can’t seem to edit any of the .Dll’s at all with FLdev anymore. I go in and change the the info i need to, hit update and then apply, but when i reload the .DLL’s next time or attempt to see my changes in-game, nothing happens.
Any ideas for what could be causing this strange issue?

Are the DLLs read-only?
-
Did you define an Output directory?

No the Dll’s aren’t’ read-only, and what do u mean by output directory? All I’ve ever had to do previously was locate the freelancer.ini file, tell it to update, then change the info i needed too. Is there some other way to do it and i just happened to find a glitch, or was i doing it right and its just not working now

I had the same experience… I have been using FLDev (love it!) but it suddenly stopped working for me this week.
I dug a little deeper and see that FLed-ids and Resource Hacker seem to update DLLs correctly, but FLDev just stopped. It looks correct on-screen, but it does not write out to the DLL.
Could it be due to some recent security patch to Windows or an A/V tool?
I registered on FriendlyFire’s web site where he said that he supports FLDev and has a FAQ, but my registration is still “waiting for admin approval” (sigh).

Yeah i never had any luck with ResHack, and i started using Fldev to get rid of FLed-ids because it worked so much better. I’m hoping somehow FF can find some sort of reason for this to be occuring, or i don’t know what i’ll do.
I went to that website, but didn’t bother to register after seeing he’s an admin here after all, so hopefully he can assist us with this problem and we can get back to our modding ways.

2) Did you define an Output directory?THAT’s IT!
Yay!
I was trying to experiment with the CSV parser and defined an output folder on the Home tab. It did not occur to me that it would change the way that the DLL editor works.
Use for DLL Editor, which makes sense… now.Friendly, I love FLDev, but I feel as though I am fumbling in the dark on the CSV parser without docs for the templates. That is why I registered for your web site…

What version of Fldev are u you using bullwinkle?FLDev 1.1b
It is on the Forge: http://forge.the-starport.net/projects/fldev/files
@FriendlyFire: Thank you for the instantaneous response and for making a great tool!

I can tell both of you that a much, much improved version should be coming in sometime this summer. Unfortunately, with finals and such I can’t start working before May, but I hope to make fast progress then
The first step will be an entirely redesigned DLL editor.

Oh Friendly Fire, could you please include some option for dlls in other languages? I can’t edit the german ones with FLDev (its the same with fled_ids) without changing the language setting for each node with res hacker…
Edit: Posted again where it belongs (here)…sorry

Are you using 1.1? I’m pretty sure I had added something about that…
If not, I’ll look into it, but those DLL language settings are really awkward.
-
I was using v1.001 - will try 1.1 then.

Well…
I’m gonna wait for version 3.x!!
Maybe it’ll support single-core too!
