Best way to improve texture in discovery

love the game, but wish that there were better textures for discovery
is there a way without having to manually change stuff. i.e. editing each texture myself
is discovery compatible with changed textures
i just want it to look better
is there anything out there to do it?

You can edit the .mat files with the UTF editor. Extract, edit, import.
It takes some time but the result its worth of it.Any modification of the vanilla textures should be compatible with all the existing mods (Except the ones that changes the same textures =P).
There is the hi-def textures mod that its quite good, but it only edits the vanilla ones.

Hell… Why Discovery? Don’t you play any other mods? I don’t say its a bad mod, but people always go to the most popular insted of the most well done. Try something new, like Crossfire, Nightstalker’s Universe, Freeworlds ToW or Shattered Worlds (mods with best graphic I know) if youre looking for graphic and quality. If its only quality youre looking for, stay with Discovery.
