Horizontal Tradelanes

(Note: I was unsure if it belonged here since it’s half a hack request)
I remember seeing an old picture of beta Freelancer that had trade lanes side-by-side rather than how it was released as on top of another. I experimented in a test system to rotate the trade lanes which looks a lot more of space highways. The problem, however, was that when I entered the trade lane, my ship auto-rotated as if the trade lane were on top of each other.
Is there some way to change the rotation of trade lanes so that you don’t enter them sideways?

The issue is, I believe, with the way the hardpoints are oriented on the tradelane model. Simply rotate the HpLeftLane and HpRightLane hardpoints so they are oriented correctly and the issue should be fixed. I haven’t actually tested this however, so your mileage may vary.

fox is right. its just like with any station, how your ship turns does only depend on its docking hardpoints. you can even move them a kilometer outside and your ship will be “docking to pure space”. ofc you can re-export the whole model and move the hardpoints (prevents the need to rotate in system ini and the rotation of hp’s themselves), but that’s much more complicated.
