Colony Ship Up for Grabs

I did some quick experimentation and I’ve come to the conclusion that it simply cannot make its way into Milkshape unless whatever was done with the Star Destroyer and Correlian Corvette in Freeworlds is done here. Even getting rid of all the shipyard models, which drops the model into what should be within Milkshape’s bounds, it does not import.
Like when I made the Liberty Gunboat, the issue isn’t so much exporting the model to Freelancer. It is getting the model into Milkshape in the first place.
If anyone somehow manages to get this in game, feel free to use it to your hearts content. You deserve it.
I’ve probably included more textures than are actually used on the model. I know at least my modified texture for windows is in there. The texture named “STAWINS_SCALE_128” can be used as replacements for the vanilla windows. The new textures are much more scale-appropriate than the vanilla texture that is currently on it.

Here it is to save people the trouble. I had to break it up into two models to get it to export right. I’ve included the ms3d files with this one has the docks on it and the other is without. All textures are in dds format and it is basically ready to go. I also included all of the dds textures so people can play with this more.

Thanks to Why485 for the great model and Nightstalnker for importing it succsessfully into Milkshape.
I did now the following things:

resized it to correct size (10k long)

optimized used mats (now it uses Freelancer mat files, safes diskspace and biosphere.dds included in .cmp file)

added Hardpoints for the shipyards for using correct relative positions or adding them via loadout

Oh, just the glas don’t work yet. I can’t see it ? (uses standard FL files)
I know, the original shipyards are the 2x shipyards, so my resize of the base is just the half of the real size, but I think thats enough, isn’t it?

Was it really off scale when you imported it? In my limited experience when importing the Gunboat, the scale was just fine. If I recall correctly, the Colony Ship should be ~12km long. Did you use the scale texture I mentioned for the windows or are you just using the vanilla texture as well?
Great job you all, I’m surprised at the rate of progress that was made on this. I really should have put the model up for download sooner.

No, Nighstalkers ms3d files were rescaled so I scaled them back to a good value.
Yes it uses the vanilla windows now. -
I rescaled it so I could work on it easier. I also found a hole in one of the windows and repaired it (Wouldn’t want anybody to get sucked out into space ). I used Ultimate Unwrap Pro to finally get it into Milkshape by converting it into a 3ds.

Its good for my Inter-Colonial mega transport. As possible as it seems to get it inside, I’m surely going to replace the old stinkey model I use for it now with this one!

I put up a really simple video of the thing ingame. As I say in the description, the video isn’t really so much about the model itself as it is the fact that it made it ingame in the first place due to community efforts. There’s no way I could have done this on my own.
By the way I’m just remembering now that I never modeled engines onto the thing. I actually just plain forgot.
