that’s how long the ship needs from starting the jump sequence to entering the jump tube. this and the distance between the jump start and the docking point (with radius) decide about the jump-in and jump-out speed while the ship is not in the tube.

No wonder why I thought the sequence was cut! I loved looking at a system jump sequence, made me either relaxed or determined.
