Timeline, Background Story Info etc. from Original Game

Is this really to be seen in Texas, in-game?? Can’t remember having ever seen anything like this, not in-game and not in Li04.ini. But maybe it is included in the Li04_starsphere?
Yes, they are called the Pequena Negra and Grande Negra…these are the black clouds. Read the descriptions.

I know of these clouds and their origin.
The history refered to a “singularity” still there, i.o.w. a very small, dense object “like an evil eye”. I asked whether such a thing can actually be seen in the System.
EDIT or rather I remarked I never saw it (subtle difference). I don’t think there is such a thing, or it should be in the background starsphere.

There’s always those bloody shiny anomalies like van pelt or whatever his name was studying on baxter research station before he got blown to kingdom come. Start with something like that and maybe muck about with the ALE if you can to beef it up a bit, then throw some wreckage around it. Should suffice for a disaster scene. But then again, I doubt many people would go sight seeing in Texas.

Yeah the black_hole archetype looks cool, but as there is no gravity in FL, and no involuntary jumpholes (where the player would “autodock” if too close) it’s a bit lame to use it… Maybe a drag_modifier zone around it is the next best thing to simulate it.

What about just a SKAPOWSH BOOM zone?EDIT: By that I mean a death zone would simulate a black hole due to gravitational pull.
Nah, that wouln’t do justice to the mystique of a black hole… It should be a passage, imho. In game-terms, it should be a special kind of wormhole.
In fact, a wormhole corresponds to the theoretical concept of what physicists call a ‘white hole’. A black hole always means death to travellers ending up in it. So, a “Skapowsh Boom” zone would be realistic, also because black holes will be surrounded by a magnetic field, radiation etc.
But that would be kinda disappointing, in-game.
Actually I was already thinking of giving each and every ordinary wormhole in Sirius (im my mod) a moderate radiation damage zone… It’s a bit all too easy to use them as the game is now, especially as the description says Ageira advises against using them.
That means a black hole should be dressed up to stress its rareness. I think that’ll be a fun task

Agiera probably advises against using them for commercial reasons, jumpgates and the tradelane network are made with their technology.

vanilla jumpgates are safe, gentlemen. remember, with Adoxa’s plug-in we can make any jumphole to jump you randomly to a death zone you created just for the purpose of non-safe jumpholes. and as we are on it, that would be pretty cool for jumpgates to take money from players to jump. that would require the player to deside, whether he risks a death with penalty (the other chance being a free jump to where he wants) or to pay for a safe jump

(I intend to do so in my mod, which, judging from my rate of progress, will be ready somewhere in the early 2020s. So keep hanging around  )

Nice idea. And realistic (in-game I mean) Maybe even with rep-related discounts (but that would be even harder to hack).

What I ment is wars during the storyline of the game, and some before (if there were any). Do you know where is this info?I think Discovery had a timeline along with all the wars during the storyline, but I’m not sure how much of that is actually canon. A lot of things mentioned during the single-player campaign such as the 80-year war between Rheinland and the GMG are only vaguely placed into the storyline.

The most things are real, but the rest was changed to fit in the story of Discovery.
