    Now, as most of you are aware, there is a bloom “plugin” that was found and is being used in FL now, i was wondering if there was any others like this?

    Well, I for one, remember seeing a similar “directx hook” somewhere that allowed you to display text on the screen. Not too useful in my opinion, though…

    That plug-in is for seeing a chat window in the FL 3d screen.

    LS, would you know any sites that i could look at for D3D8 hooking? i mean, ive been on a few sites already gamedev.net and gamasurta.com but im not getting anywhere 😄

    You need good C++ knowledge to do such a thing, plus you need damn good Direct3D knowledge, not speaking of shaders etc., to actually implement any graphical features.

    I know, I have looked into it and its not simple. That russian guy who wrote the D3d8->D3d9 converter did a damn nice job.

    Louva sent me link to a plug-in site last night, I’ll post it later. To do the DX plugin you simply need to know the process name then you can pull it’s DX device from it. Once you do that you can render or override the rendering process in FL. As w0dk4 said, you would need extensive DX knowledge to pull it off. You can also pull off some of the graphic effects simply by using the attached fx system in FL. Most of those fx types are simply billboards and can be resized and retextured to your hearts content.
